One more try... Why is my CoP so slow?

I posted on here months ago and got no solution. I'm going to try again.

My CoP has longer load times than any game I play. Whether it's vanilla, Misery, Redux, anything. I quicksave, and it takes a minimum of about 15 seconds. I press escape, same thing. The game itself runs smooth, at max graphics, DX11, no AA.

I know Misery takes up a lot of stuff, with the textures and new stuff. But I've seen videos of people quicksaving and loading 10x faster than me.

I've re installed, tried vanilla CoP after install, everything. It never used to be like this.

I also uninstalled AVG and got avast.

Lower your settings, and use DX10. DX11 was attached last minute, is unoptimized, and unless you count pixels and examine everything with binoculars at point blank range, your not going to notice its effects.

Well the thing is, is that when I first built this PC it ran fine. There are no in-game performance issues.

The only thing is, is that when I quicksave, or hit esc, or quickload, it takes about 60 seconds for each one of those.

I've previously ran 2 clean installs, vanilla CoP and its the same way. But before, when I first built this it was completely fine.

It's not my settings or in the game files, its either my Steam or some other problem. I googled it and other people have had this problem. Some have solved it through switching Steams compatability mode or something, but I don't see anything like that on my Steam.

Did you by any chance get newer drivers for your vga lately?? Iirc there are more than a few guys who have had performance issues coming out of nowhere and the trick was rolling back to older drivers.

Hmm well I got new ones last night, and before i started having issues I had gotten new ones.

But why would that hinder Stalker and help my other games?

I'm not sure mate, all I know is that some of the really good tech/programmer guys that hang around here have suggested it as a solution, and I definitely remember that it has worked for some guys. I'm guessing that it all comes down to our favorite x-ray engine
If you check some previous threads of bugs you'll find what I'm talking about.
It's relatively easy to roll back I think, even with older drivers the install wizard does the biggest part of the job for you so if this is the only thing you changed before the problems started, maybe you should give it a try.

So I have to roll back, I can't roll back just for CoP? And I can easily get back to my other drivers, right?

No you can't roll back just for CoP , there can only be one version of drivers at a computer at a time and yes it should be easy to get back to your new ones, as I said before the install wizard does the biggest part of the job for you.
Just a word of warning though, in the past I had the evil that is haunting our world called Steam, do the download and installation for me and it messed up for some reason. Since then I download the drivers manually and do the install on my own. Just sayin'...

I fixed it!

I had to disable vista compatability in steam, and then restart. It works like a charm now.
