Dx11 and no sun rays (Nvidia) HBAO and grass shadows

Hi!

I'm trying to get dx11 to work properly with my iMac late 2012 model w/Nvidia 680MX 2gb (= an underclocked GTX680). When I activate dx11 I get no sun rays, and it also looks like other lighting effects are missing. Any way to fix this?

Also, using HBAO in dx10 makes surfaces reflect light in a more realistic manner than standard SSAO, but now in certain lighting conditions grass shadows will draw right in front of me when moving about. Any fix?

I use the latest Nvidia drivers, but I've also tested 2-3 previous Nvidia drivers. I use Windows 7 with updates. I also use the Call of Pripyat steam version + atmosfear, absolute nature.

I guess this is probably a long shot, but if there is a fix that would be great. Thanks for reading.

Sun rays ony appear in the morning, from 6 to 8 am. Don't know about grass shadows, might be a graphic bug, I play it maxed out, but before that i played on dx 10.1 and seen no difference between the two -_-

Sun rays appear a lot more often actually, during the day if sunlight comes from behind a ridge or certain other obstructions, or during the evening. There are plenty of sun rays in dx10... (Just to add, on my machine even HDAO is bugged, which has no grass shadow/shading at all.)

Don't get me wrong but without mods i think sun rays show only from 6 to 8 in the morning. SSAO HDAO dunno what's up with that because i can't see the difference.

It's probably Atmosfear that's creating more sun rays then. I've never actually played CoP without mods. CoP just looks sooo much better with Atmosfear and Abs nature.

This is unrelated but it might interest you to know, It got brought up not long ago and I remembered a smrtphonusr post about campfires not working in dx11 properly. he gave a fix which is go to

gamedata\configs\zones\zone_campfire.ltx

and change

idle_light_r1 = false

to

idle_light_r1 = true


and that makes the fire glow properly in dx11.

I know dx11 isn't r1 but in his post he explained why it fixes it, I just can't remember, incidently there's two identical lines in the file that both need switching to true.

Thanks David, didn't know about that one! However, as long as sun rays are missing in dx11 I'm sticking to dx10. Walking around in Zaton or Jupiter, Cordon whatever during the early morning hours or afternoon/evening and seeing those sun rays... that's a must for me.
