Thanks for your fast answer davideverett!

Since my previous post I figured out that there's a topic dedicated to Complete mod itself, but it seemed worthless to post in it after what you wrote. Normally I don't mind if I have to do some work on my own to overcome bugs / glitches, but (despite being an experienced user) I'm totally unfamiliar with X-Ray and modding S.T.A.L.K.E.R. overall.

What you recommended seems a viable solution to get over the issues I'm dealing with. My only concern is that I'll eventually lose some features I loved in Complete. Contrary to probably a lot of player, eye-candy was just one reason I installed the mod, the Bug Fixes and Features listed on the official page (http://artistpavel.blogspot.hu/2010/04/mod-call-of-pripyat-complete.html) were a huge initiative as well.

Granted I can live without them, but it would be nice if you can recommend some mods to recover at least some of the lost features. While I loved majority of them, the ones I enjoyed the most were Real Weapon Names, NPC Variation, Sleeping Bag, Looting Money and maybe The Wish Granter. Recently I found that God Of The Zone (http://www.moddb.com/mods/stalker-god-of-the-zone/downloads/gotz-english-non-merged) covers this last one, so that's a check. But for the rest, I couldn't find separated mods for them, while installing more complex mods (even if they don't alter the gameplay at all) just for certain features seems pointless to me.

As the last solution Real Weapon Names could be retrieved from Complete itself, it shouldn't be more than replacing the equivalent strings in the files storing weapon names / attributes. But as for the others I'd rather avoid script mining and risking the stability of my next playthrough. So that's it - again, thanks for your help in advance!

I've never tried this myself but have a read at what it does to see if it covers what you want. Have a read through the user posts aswell to see how it is for reliability, As I said I have not used it but I think it is a similar concept to Complete.

There are mini-mods that add the different features but the more you add the more you'll need to start merging files.

Although I only played Call of Pripjaty for a little before my current run, I'm more or less familiar with bigger mods because I always wanted to finally make a playthrough. On the other hand, I didn't know anything about tiny modifications focusing on a single feature, that's why I asked if you could recommend separated solutions to cover my needs. So while I knew about this Reloaded project but never actually tried it (same goes for every other major mod), I'd have preferred to put together my desired features one by one. But don't get me wrong, that's cool that way too and I appreciate your efforts.

What happened in the last few days is that I decided to give Reloaded a shot, but unfortunately the game don't even start with it (constant XRay crash with BREAKPOINT error message + nothing helpful in the log). It must be the mod because if I get rid of the gamedata directory everything working fine. So I'd rather chose your original suggestion.

Now the Atmosfear 3 + Absolute Nature 3 (Lite) + Absolute structures triplet is working like a charm, for real weapon names I used MattyDienhoff's mod and so far everything is incredible. Except that poor Spartacus died thanks to probably a Zombie / Boar rush to the Shevchenko before I could exchange a word with him, but that's not technical related problem.

So finally I can investigate those damn choppers, even if I had to leave my progression behind. Last but not least let me thank your help again, davideverett!

Got same problem. This bug is very random and got it on PC as on Notebook.

Cant finish game and dont know what causing this problem. No matter if game is with mods or not.
 
Each word should be at least 3 characters long.
