SoC/CS story mod in CoP

I'm returning to the Zone after an extensive vacation and wanted to know if there were any mods that port or migrate the SoC and/or CS storyline + maps to Call of Pripyat, preferrably as close to vanilla as possible so I can sort out what addons I want.

I am aware of Call or Chernobyl which does seem to have all the maps, and while it does have a story mode, its just 'Go Disable the Miracle Machine and Brain Scorcher'.

Good to see you return.

Call of Chernobyl is more than just all the maps.

The ability to choose 1 of 9 Factions, your variable loadouts and choice of starting location, makes it really stand out.

Plus the complexity of the Companion modes, to choose to have a team to do things or to go it alone, is another great feature.

It's as clean and as basic to the vanilla games as possible.

However, people wanting to see and experience something unrecognizable to the original Games are currently enjoying Anomaly.

Yeah, in CoC I picked my starting Faction (Loners), randomly starting location, and got put in the CoP Pripyat map in the apartment overlooking the Vine anomaly with only a Kora 919, some basic food and meds, and a city full of zombies and Monolith. Was fun trying to get to the Laundromat, only to find out there were no allied NPC's there.

2nd start, Loners again, this time. So far been common mutants, zombies spawning at the Shevchenko (so I've been able to get some loot before the NPCs loot it all) and dodging the two Psudeogiants wandering around. Doing a bit better, but its hard to find all the mutant bodyparts that squads are requesting to complete missions since there doesn't seem to be much else happening, and I'm running low on everything. Might try push south and find a more active map, or just restart again.

Thanks for the suggestion of Anomaly, I'll have a look at it.

The worst choice and most difficult for a Loner to start off at is in Jupiter, Zaton or Pipyat. This is because there are almost none of the very much needed activated stash locations. If you expect to find the basic, advanced or expert tools for upgrades, the northern locations are an incredibly bad choice, especially for newcomers who don't know better.

My advice is to start off in the Cordon where you have a safe place to work from, being the Rookie Village. It is a challenge with early gear but traveling back and forth from there to the Loner Base ( where the Repair Tech is ) gives you another safe place to control both ends of the Cordon.

From the Rookie Village you can head along the fence to the Cordon tunnel level changer to the Marshes. Take a running leap in the corner and you can sail right over the fence, out of range of the Military's PKM and be in the Marshes before they can send any troops up the hill to nab you.

The Marshes are a great place to earn money, do tasks and find artifacts. Going back to the Cordon is easy and quick trips through Garbage to get to Rostok are possible with minimum gear. I think some of the Clear Sky armors might be a little more useful than what Sidorovich sells.

Another great start location for a Loner is in Rostok. Easy access to quick trips into Garbage, Wild Territory and the Army Warehouses. This is probably the easiest start since you can quickly come across high quality used weapons and masses amounts of supplies. Take a quick trip to Dead City to buy the best Exo in the Game, the Mercenary Exoskeleton. Likewise the best starter suit is the Mercenary jumpsuit. In the southern levels you will find the most stash activations and quicker access to all the needed tools.

Like I said, CoC is the closest thing inventory wise to the base retail games. Of course most of what Im talking about is the 1.4.22 version, while some people like the 1.5 version with more changes like variable backpacks and other things.

Anomaly is a very different Mod, nothing like the retail Games and probably the farthest you can get from it that's currently popular. It is based on CoC 1.5 but has so many slider adjustments, you may think you're in a totally different Game. It's more inventory management as you can loot people and come across hundreds of variable pieces to construct your own weapon and/or armor upgrades.
