28 Weeks Later...

Hi fellow stalkers. I've been following this forum for 5-6 years although only posted for a couple of times since I joined..
I've always wondered if anyone else who did watch the movie thought its soundtrack (namely night watch) would have been a perfect addition for the stalker games.. It so much fits in to the atmosphere of the zone that its as if made for the game..
Just listen to this while imagining that you're looking at the menu screen (any stalker game, doesn't matter) and tell me what you think please..

I use it as combatv music in some of the mods I play as you can hear here from a minute on.

I can't remember who originally did the sound files, I probably pulled thme from a Russian mod.

I believe the second song is also from the movie, right? Ending credits track if I recall correctly..
Thank you for showing me this David.. I see this track also captures the "zone feel" when actually used in the levels as an ambient track.

My second curiousity comes from this piece which is the main theme of the Peter Jackson's King Kong movie (2005). Has anyone noticed how it is incredibly similar to SOC's main menu theme? Maybe the composer of the game was inspired by it

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNRVPtIEuEU (after the first minute it's more similar)

It also reminds me of the Lord of the Rings music a bit.

There's load's of good incidental music around, My current Call of Chernobyl merge has a menu track which I got from a Russian mod named Gladiator and I'm not 100% sure but I think the music originally came from the movie Gladiator, I'll have to have a look on Youtube later and see if I'm right.
The right music does a lot for a games ambience,
There's a SOC mod where you get offered a mission that requires you to travel from one end of a fan made map to the other, When you accept the mission a Doors track starts playing for the journey across the map which takes a couple of minutes, Even though it wasn't incidental music it was the first time I'd seen music used like that in a Stalker mod and I really enjoyed it as it added to the experience.
