I know we get sun rays down there,

Changing the switch distance from the vanilla 150 to 800 or more allows you to move around a map in demo record with your characters presence not affecting how the mutants and npc's act, letting you see how they spend there time, Alun did something similar in a few videos to show his AI working in the zone. I enjoy using it to move across land maps, Like TS said there's no good way to demo record through underground maps due to it being too dark, Maybe Atmosfears brighter nights setting or SGM's cat eye drug would improve it enough, I'll have to give that a go sometime.

Jupiter Underground in COP

That's a question that I don't think has ever come up before. Can I
see the weather above while in an underground level? Since there is
generally no need to have weather patterns while underground, this
might only apply to levels that share both an underground section and
an above ground section so there is no loading screen between them.

Much like we saw leaving the X-16 Underground in SoC where we jump
through a hole in the ground after meeting the Controller, we have a
new section of the underground load that is connected to the larger
above ground section meaning there is changing weather awaiting us.

Specifically to the Pripyat Underground, will we see rain fall through the
cracked and broken Dome? I seem to remember some rain. However
it involved my character being in the same section. Generally speaking
objects to find on the ground, people and mutants only appear when the
Player gets in on-line range. Be too far away in off-line range, you will
not always see all of those things. Using Demo_record to fly around to
observe things you can see dead bodies left behind or objects others have
dropped like weapons but seeing things that have never come on-line yet
is different. Once you get to the Dome you can fly out to see what is above
but keep in mind it is only an illusion to be seen from one angle, being
at the bottom of the Dome and not something like seeing a hidden city.

In my experience, just being able to get somewhere to use Demo_Record
is often a disappointing experience in underground levels since it is too
dark for you to see anything properly and if you get out of on-line range
of the Player, any NPCs, mutants or objects you want to see are not there.

just a last thing to note, I copied the fsgame.ltx in the creatures folder in order to have a .ltx extension file so I could copy the text into it (since actor is .ltx extension too) and renaming .txt to .ltx wouldn't work I bet

I actually don't need any mod to do it, I only read through the file you sent me, saw it begins at actor_terrain and ends at some merc exo ********* thing, with this in mind I created manually a gamedata/configs/creatures folder, copied fsgame.ltx (which is already in my game folder after installation) in it, renamed it to actor.ltx, then I opened configs file (which is already in my game folder after installation), from the configs file I copied all the stuff starting at actor_terrain and ending at the merc exo ******* stuff, and I changed the jump speed from 6 to any value I wanted
and this is how you can easily do it without downloading anything
so I've officially found a way to get to Jupiter underground without downloading ANYTHING and can now die in peace lol
thanks y'all, I couldn't have done this on my own obviously

alright so since I started COP over a while ago (before I tried this) and since I wasn't past the mission I had to download a save which had the mission completed and indeed, except 2 monolith guys the area was totally clear! I'm so happy from this

---QUOTATION---
thank you for the file
indeed the place I've found is the one that takes you to Jupiter underground
but it takes you there and starts the mission, too, with only Zulu in my team
some dude on a forum said this:
Just learned I was wrong about the level changer on the roof of the Zaton ranger station being mission status variable.
There's more than one level changer zone on that roof.
I'm going to have to examine things more carefully to properly map the roof.

Jenifur Charne

perhaps there are more than one level changer, one without the mission
I'm continuing my search

You need to use it after you've completed the mission if you want to visit the underpass for a leisurely mooch around. As I mentioned if you want to simply visit that and other underground maps at your leisure the best option is the standalone freeplay game Call of Chernobyl which will allow you to go and visit all the underground areas from all three games without any conditions. You will not be able to do it for the vanilla Call of Pripyat game unless you load a save from after you've reached Pripyat and then use the jump mod to reach the transition point and go back down there.

hello
unfortunately I can't find the gamedata folder in the GOG version
there is only bin, levels, localization, mp, patches, resources
then there is fsgame.ltx, ReadMe, STALKER-COP.pdf and Stalker-COP.exe
---END QUOTATION---

Normally you need to unpack the game to get at the game files but I sent you all you need.
When you open what I sent it contains the gamedata folder with the relevant file so just place the whole thing (unpacked wih winrar, 7zip or whatever you use to unpack compressed file folders) in the games directory.
