Regarding weapon upgrades - lynx in particular

I ordered a sniper rifle and recieved a lynx. I had the technician max out the upgrades, yet the rifle is still under powered. How do I max out the rifle's stats? I noticed 'damage' has a 100% potential, however less than half that is highlighted.

The SVUmk-2 is much more reliable, and right now my weapon of choice; the IL 86 deals more damage & often snipes with more accuracy than the Lynx. the IL 86 stats are absolutely maxed with every bar highlighted white. How do I do the same for my other guns?

Btw - I've read that MISERY mod messed up the stats on the sniper rifles making them sorely underpowered. However, I'm playing CoP in standard vanilla and still the sniper rifles suck. Have I missed something?

If you maxed the upgrades thats as far as it really goes. The best you can do is buy Armor Piercing ammo but thats about it.

Its best to make a hard savegame before ordering a particular gun from Nimble. If you don't get what you want, go back to that save and try again.

I do what Audioave10 said as well just make sure to do it before you order the gun and not after (ie: before you pick it up) as once the orders in it will already of picked the gun.

The il86 was my favourite gun for a while even back in CS regardless of the scope upgrade bug (in CS) and fast degradation cycle. It's certainly doesn't do more damage though, The fire rate is what makes it seem that way,

The il86 deals .31 damage while the Lynx deals 1.0 which is 0.2 over the regular SVD.

The il86 bars must be a bug as looking through the upgrade tree it shows nothing that should make it perform any better (ie: damage is untouched) and bullet speed, impulse etc are well below Lynx, 500 to 900 and 100 to 125.

For me the better than any other assault rifles scope magnification and the higher fire rate than an svd or svu are it's redeeming factors.

Audioave10~

This didn't work in my current Game. Going back to a manual save
BEFORE ordering the gun gave me the same gun two times in a row.
In my experience you have to order the gun first ( otherwise how can
you get a variable to something that hasn't happened yet? ) and then
make the manual save AFTER you order it but before Nimble gets it.
Works best if you decide to sleep and then wait for your order. If it's
not what you want then you go back to your save AFTER your order.

My bad, I knew that but didn't even describe it correctly. Hope it didn't cause too many to waste time trying it that way. I think. So, we are saying that the game gives the same particular weapon the first time you order regardless? Did you test more than once?
I'm looking for a video about this but I can't find it. Here...

Here, the difference is to sleep 6 hours minimum before ordering again.

In the video he's right apart from the 6 hour bit, I'm not sure why he thinks you need to do that because you don't.

If you order the gun and then save the game you always get the same weapon, That's 100%, I've extensively manipulated this cheat cause that's basically what your doing by not accepting what it gives you. Your cheating. If you save before the order it randomly picks the weapon and sure sometimes it will be the same one but it is random where as once the order is in the weapon is picked and can't be changed no matter how many times you try. If anyone's in doubt then test it for yourself, I even got the same one 4 or 5 times in a row once when I was trying to get Tide but it is random. As soon as you place the order the gun is picked and reloading after the order does nothing to change what you get.

So, the ORDER itself is the variable...nice to know. I just could not remember what I had done about 4 years ago.
