About MMOFPS: Generally, MMOFPS games aren't your standard MMO; they have rooms in which people join to enter the games, rather than being one huge open world. I for whatever reason doubt this is going to be a WoW style game, and more to the effect of Borderlands' online play.

news of STALKER's demise is considerably less painful the second time around. maybe i'd take it harder if Lost Alpha wasn't right around the corner. still hurts, though.

i'll remain hopeful for this. i mean in most cases i'd greet F2PMMOFPS with a shrug but these guys clearly love the hell out of STALKER and i highly doubt it'll be a simple "pay-to-win cashgrab" as so many people seem to think.

i think as long as this is a legitimate FPS and not some Fallen Earth clone it has a lot of potential. i'd love to see an MMO with an atmosphere of survival - something like the DayZ mod for Arma 2 but on a much wider scale. maybe Vostok can deliver that.

good night, STALKER. you've done well.

Don't want to sound pessimistic, but creating an MMO fps is kind of risky and bold at best, since almost noone's done that before. The VG devs are taking on ALOT of new challenges, imo. Couldn't we just get a simple game, instead of that MMO? How will the postapocalyptic atmosphere even exist with thousands of people playing online at once, walking around and chatting? How will one feel isolation and desperation in a crammed world (with noobs and 5 year olds) like that?

I was a LONER, I did not have to cooperate with others.

I wish them all the LUCK in the world but I feel a great sense of dread.

Would be interesting to find out from devs themselves what made them choose MMO vs SP.

I have no interest in MMOs...

Except one made by the people that made Stalker.

If this is where things are going...then so be it.

Something is better than nothing.

And all of this will only encourage better Mods for the Stalker Games
since everyone knows nothing more is to come and it is up to the
Community to keep the Zone alive. I will support all endeavors.

Let's all cross our fingers and hope for the best.

And let us not be angry or disrespectful to Sergiy Grygorovych.
He gave us 3 great Games and allowed Mods and this Forum.
If he has other things he wants to do in Life then best wishes.

It is what it is.

There's still LA and other mods after it. And who knows, maybe LA will be alot more capable and stable mod platform.

I am not aware of any First Person MMO's (apart from one, which I can't for the love of me remember the name of.... horizons, I think(?))

Would it happen to be Shattered Horizon, maybe?
---END QUOTATION---

Haven't heard of Shattered Horizon, but Fallen Earth is also a post-apocalyptic MMOFPS, and it's F2P.
