About MMOFPS: Generally, MMOFPS games aren't your standard MMO; they have rooms in which people join to enter the games, rather than being one huge open world. I for whatever reason doubt this is going to be a WoW style game, and more to the effect of Borderlands' online play.
news of STALKER's demise is considerably less painful the second time around. maybe i'd take it harder if Lost Alpha wasn't right around the corner. still hurts, though.
i'll remain hopeful for this. i mean in most cases i'd greet F2PMMOFPS with a shrug but these guys clearly love the hell out of STALKER and i highly doubt it'll be a simple "pay-to-win cashgrab" as so many people seem to think.
i think as long as this is a legitimate FPS and not some Fallen Earth clone it has a lot of potential. i'd love to see an MMO with an atmosphere of survival - something like the DayZ mod for Arma 2 but on a much wider scale. maybe Vostok can deliver that.
good night, STALKER. you've done well.
счастье для всех, даром, и пусть никто не уйдет обиженный!
Don't want to sound pessimistic, but creating an MMO fps is kind of risky and bold at best, since almost noone's done that before. The VG devs are taking on ALOT of new challenges, imo. Couldn't we just get a simple game, instead of that MMO? How will the postapocalyptic atmosphere even exist with thousands of people playing online at once, walking around and chatting? How will one feel isolation and desperation in a crammed world (with noobs and 5 year olds) like that?
