A Freeplay / Killzone 1 type Scenes of War Feature|
Correct me if I am wrong about this, the strong point of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series is both the A.I. and A-Life engine. Basically put NPCs and an impressive simulated environment. Why not exemplify this? After all multiplayer bots and firefights during single player do not do A-Life justice.
Here is why I have in mind:
Modeled after the Scenes of War Feature from Killzone 1
As a post single player or part of freeplay option. In short, a free camera that follows the activities of an S.T.A.L.K.E.R. as he or she goes about their activities. In mutant hunting, gun fights, actual artifact collecting. When the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. goes to a rest area op rest the camera moves to another active S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and so forth.
This was possible in the alpha builds of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Oblivion Lost, hitting F2 (I may be wrong it has been awhile) could switch the camera to an NPC including mutants.
None of this seems to deviate too far from the testing and debugging procedures for A-Life and thus should be easy to implement.
If I may push for something more advanced, allow the player to “tag” a specific S.T.A.L.K.E.R. to be followed. The player could modify that S.T.A.L.K.E.R.’s equipment ie armor (and what upgrades are applied to it), weapons (and what upgrades are applied to it) and items.
