Corpse 'bugfix' mod

Yes, the "Gamedata > Configs > Creature" folder contains 2 files.
One is "actor" and one is "monsters". The monster one seems to
work okay. The actor one however contains a lot of gibberish like:
ðàññòîÿíèå (â ìåòðàõ) íà êîòîðîì àêòåð ÷óâñòâóåò ãðàíàòó which
might explain why it is not working properly. I'm still looking for
a working one to keep the NPC bodies from vanishing so quickly.

Apologies for bringing up an oldie. Was the snafu with the actor file referred to here ever resolved? I'm constantly finding, when I snipe a few victims at a distance that, by the time I get to the late departed, some or all of them have......... departed. This doesn't encourage realistic sniping technique, as you know you're up against a time limit to loot the bodies which, strangely enough, will not wait for you.

IIRC, corpse deletion in CoP is handled the same way it is handled in CS: mutant corpses are cleaned up in-engine, whereas human corpses are handled by gamedata\scripts\release_body_manager.script, which is nearly identical between CS and CoP. I rewrote the CS version some time ago for the SRP to make corpses stay behind for a minimum of 1 real hour, except where the total number of non-permanent corpses in the Zone exceeds 75, in which case the surplus is deleted immediately, furthest from the player first. Porting the re-written script to CoP wouldn't be difficult, but the script would require starting a new game due to a modified packet data structure.

I ported the SRP human corpse removal system to CoP. It's untested, but should work. Requires a new game as explained above.
