Clear Sky Time For Change v2.0 MOD by Aleks (aleksn09)

Anyone else seen this big CS mod yet? I have it installed and it appears to be pretty stable. It adds a lot of stuff! Levels included are Bar, Generators, Darkscape and a couple more. All have quests and are filled with NPC's, wildlife, anomalies, etc... The story branches off to include these levels and new NPC's.

Google translated misc. readme:

Added weapon : WA2000, RG -6 special , M79 special , Marauder1010, mine , FS2000, FN FAL, thermobaric grenade .
Posted edged weapon : Hunting knife , dirk knife with a dragon , Army bayonet M9 Buck MB, Combat Knife " Shaitan " , a throwing knife .
Added locations : Cache black digger ( Author : Pihan13), the generator.
NPC intelligence was better:

Added two kinds of hiking Kit: for armor and weapons.

Substituted visual Scar early in the game for the respective roller , ie now he's in a brown cloak , and on waking in the inventory it spawns cape jacket and not a novice.
Added issuance of vodka cold with the very first meeting , that is, now offered to drink not only in words .

Translated FAQ

Q. What happens when a crash when talking to Valerian after Khaletsky?
A. Boot from last saves and after speaking to Khaletskaya immediately go talk to Valerian.

B. Departure early in the game, after a conversation with Lebedev. How to fix it?
A: Check whether there stuck folder users, it should be in the folder where the gamedata.

Q. Why YY Khaletskaya says that he does not have an extra gun, although there are vending machines in the inventory, and a gun in the slot?

Might be, have to look at the mod first. Hopefully it isn't, given the trouble I had first time round resolving it. I might just be overreacting since a lot of the changelog currently matches my own mod, or what I aim to implement.

Currently at work, so I'll have to look at it later.

Short version is, got an email from someone here about some Russian modder who was using the Christmas demo release of my last mod, added some stuff to it, and was claiming it as his own.
Got in contact with the site admins, pointed them to my one over at ModDB, and they pulled the ripoff version.
A day later, the modder gets in contact with me, asking why the hell I'm claiming his work as my own, and is making arrangements with the admins to get his mod restored, and mine pulled from ModDB.
Took a few days, multiple screenshots of file properties, and the site admins reviewing both our mods, but they finally agreed that mine was the original, despite all the mud flinging (he claimed I hacked into his computer, deleted/changed a bunch of files so he couldn't prove his case, but couldn't provide any proof of this) and legal threats by this other guy (which never materialized)
It was all done via email, so I don't think there is a complete mention of it here, just parts of it,

Anyway, I've derailed this thread enough. I'll stop here for now.

I am looking at this at the moment. One of the best sites for it is:

Torrent download is fast but you need to register to get the link. Yandex is slow .... unless you have joined this I guess.

I have retail English version 1.5.01 of CS which needed to be patched up to 1.5.10 for this mod.

Note that there are different patches depending on whether you have the DVD or digital download version.

When you have patched to 1.5.10 the mod is a straight overlay -adding gamedata, new bin files and localised user file (with adjusted fsgame.ltx).

@david.m.e, I have translated the text\rus folder using Stalkerstein's V4.2 helper ... and keeping these files in the rus folder. There is no localization.ltx file per se. The game seems to run fine but in the dialogue there is a mix of standard English and code terms such as (roughly) "csk_join_faction_4" etc. which if you choose then brings up "csk_join_faction_44" etc. I cannot find (so far) which files need to be translated to get the proper text for these. It is not in gameplay I think.

Note that CS has a large db file called xenglish.db in a localization folder. The Russian version would have a xrussian.db.

Maybe you have an answer for this.

I've just come here while dialoghelper does the folder, I noticed some of the new dialog was in Russian so that means some is also somewhere in gameplay presumably.

Theres a lot of files in the text/rus folder, they will need there new text merged into there english counterparts so that the vanilla text isn't all gobbledegook, there's a lot of them so there's a lot of work before even thinking about a rewrite but I'm gonna start doing them, just incase you do, I'll start from the end of the folder and work backwards.

Let me know though.

David, You were right. If you have the English version of CS (ie with xenglish.db in the localization folder) the \text\rus folder needs to be renamed to \text\eng.

The dialoguehelper (V4.2) works with most files but fails with files like st_item_weapon.xml. I think this has to do with the "%c \n [255,255, " etc. stuff. I will check through and try to get it working tomorrow and post the "translation" if it seems ok.

Looks like it could be a good game. I haven't played a Clear Sky mod

I did In my first post, I said check the downloads section for files. My fault for not being more clear, perhaps a little ambiguous, but everything is there you need.

Anyway, it seemed pretty good, but when I started going into the new levels, they were pretty barren. I did not follow the story, so could have missed some things, I just wanted to check the stability and it is pretty stable.

Do you use "StalkerDialogHelper" for translations? Everything is automated, just let it sit there and do its thing. Large translations may take 20-30 min, but it does everything for you.

I must of missed that bit in the first post, pity, I'm glad it's stable, I'm looking forward to the maps in it. I do use the dialoghelper but you still have to go into the individual files and switch the vanilla text with the translator text for each seperate file or else you get all gobbledegook vanilla text, Did you do that with yours or is it all translator stuff?

Sid's door is locked - help needed

When I move to Cordon from Southern Farm I find Sid's door locked. I know there is supposed to be Sid dialogue (a trigger) when I enter Cordon but this doesn't happen. Previous reports say that you need to get the guide at Southern Farm (Swamp area) to take you to Cordon to trigger this. However, my guide at Southern Farm only takes you to Clear Sky base.

Any ideas?

I sometimes have the same problem, i just load an old save and it works well the pda. Also, i play like 10 minutes and the game freezes but it doesn't crash.

I play this mode for three days, and i like that somebody finally made mod for Clear Sky, but i noticed some things that annoying me:

PDA totally messed up
misaligned sights on AKS 74
eotech(or something) on FN FAL (i like sniper rifles and this rifle 7,62x51 may become good sniper rifle)

I tried to align sights on AKS 74 with STCOP weapon configurator which i used with Call of Pripyat and it worked, does not with CS. Can anybody align that sights.

I tried to install this, I made sure i have current patch installed, from a clean eng retail copy

I then install machine translation v2,

Then I try to launch, neither standard short cut or the included launcher works, and it gives me a xray crash dialog.

I've only played a little bit of this but it runs great, I see a higher FPS in Clear Sky base than I've ever seen before. Looks great, plays smooth, controls and movement feel better somehow.

Sometimes it seems like the enemies are bullet-sponge but I need to put more time in to figure out if I want to change anything. About to go play some more now!

Curious about V3 but checking reviews on ap-pro.ru it seems there are a lot of people that prefer V2

Clear Sky Time For Change v2.0

I am quite liking this mod at the moment, runs great and such. I do have a few questions though, but haven't yet left the swamp.

Probable SPOILERS below, so read at your own risk :

Hopefully my install wasn't bugged, as all stashes are populated without getting the coordinates first. I found this by just wandering around and generally being curious. Also, the contents are usually quite generous, even while playing on the highest difficulty.

Another point : The usual 'get flash drives' quest for the first mechanic, does it end? I've received the one as a reward from the Clear Sky trader after killing the boars at the start ( which the Tech doesn't seem to want, no idea why ), and found several ( three so far ) labeled as something around 'Exoskeleton Upgrade', I think all have the same description.

Something else : I've found a few PDAs, and neither the Trader, Leader, Bar Tender, or normal Clear Sky members will buy them. Maybe they're used later.

Last : I always look through the 'stalkers_upgarde_info.ltx' file ( spoiler, I know ), and it says the Clear Sky tech can upgrade the Saiga with it being on the list and all, but he doesn't I'm guessing as there is no upgrade tree listed farther down like seen with the Groza, FN2000, or PKM.

Over all, great mod so far, only the rare crash regarding memory.

Now I'm curious about version 3 of this, so thanks for the V2 translation.

Yes, stashes do seem to be all populated.

I'm not all that far in the game yet (Cordon) but it seems that:

-Ammo, items, firearms are very easy to come by
-Faction war seems toned down or easier?
-Performance is fantastic and it looks great
-Some new weapons
-Trading seems kind of broken or unbalanced, you can sell firearms to other stalkers for high prices. Basically you can get 5,000r from every stalker you meet hocking weapons

Like I said, I'm not far in the game and I already have 200,000 rubles, a decent artifact loadout, choice of many weapons including an FN Fal. I have a stalker suit but could definitely afford an EXO which Sid sells...

I'm curious what the mod adds, it's been too long since I played stock but it doesn't seem like there are new quests yet?

The ai isn't that great, might be stock

I like the mod and it's automatically enjoyable simply because it runs so well, but I wonder if it's going to get more difficult or if I need to start modding it to get what I want?

Just out of cruising around, I got ( for free via stash ) one if not the best Clear Sky suit, the one with the large visor. Check stashes around the Renegade-held machine yard.

For me, not long after I clear it or other places, the Renegades spawn nearby and wipe out the Clear Sky guys with apparent ease, probably because the sawn-off Toz 66 is more powerful than the Saiga, or Toz 34. Using a Toz 66 myself, the reload is slow though, and its very accurate with buckshot.

Also, selling guns to the barkeep netted me about ten to fifteen percent more than the regular trader, so about the same as regular stalkers. He'll also buy more things.

This mod is pretty easy so far, my first artifact was a Gravi.. and I didn't need my detector out, it was just sitting there, moving about on the ground at the start of the first intro mission.

If you'd like to do a re-balance patch or something, I'll give it a try. The economy seems too easy, and the stashes too useful for this mod to be really challenging.

Still fun though, thanks for the info.

Yeah, I'm considering doing that, already made some difficulty tweaks. Also, sight-alignment seems to be a big problems. I'm not sure why so many mods have misaligned 16x9 sights? Is it a technical thing with differences from computer to computer? I don't know how you could release a mod without that being tested?

Fixing the pimped out FN FAL with the EOTech sight right now, but the MP5A2 and others also need to be fixed.

Yeah, a lot of the guns need balancing.The prices of everything needs balancing, for example some artifacts that are better than others sell for much less..

I also had problems where the transition to X18 would trigger outside of the factory, preventing me from walking around the building to kill the guys in the back, also leaving X18 from the basement you trigger the transition to X18...

I'm enjoying the mod a lot because it runs so great for me, but it seems to need some patching. I'm trying to fix things as I go and may drop a patch here, but it depends on how many more problems I find.

Thanks for your reply and I didn't have the second patch so I was hopeful.

Sadly so luck - same error. I think it's something to do with this file: 'detail_grnd_leaves — копия.thm'

...but fixing it is beyond my skill level.

Yes, I was thinking along the same lines so I tried deleting it. Same problem...just says it can't open the file.

It's a shame because it looks like a good mod.

I can't say for sure if it will solve your problem specifically Hegel, but many crashes are due simply to filenames having Cyrillic characters in them, which can't be communicated properly by programs that aren't using Unicode (aka STALKER) unless your OS is set up to handle it. Changing your System Locale to Russian may fix this issue and will reduce headaches in the future. Assuming your OS is in English, you shouldn't notice any changes elsewhere.

It's not a very bad crash,I play with french db without any problem.

More I play the more I appreciate it and want to improve translation.

No "magie",but need:

1 CS 1.5.10 clean (patch 1 and 10 only)
2 The mod with the 10 bin files (in the archive of the mod)
3 Fix 1
4 Fix 2
5 Addon Nature 3 if good PC

Then if you want to use the special key for medikits (or containers) you need to launch with the launcher.exe in folder bin.

The story is really good,never saw that before.
You start at the end of original CS,you will found dead Lebedev ,you can escape the CNNP to Pripyat and now the story is to know why had to kill Strelok...

Awesome graphics as usual on CS,but here it's really impresive, new gameplay and items,very good weapons and knifes,the mod is short but with freeplay and at the end we meet Strelok ...

I explore Pripyat at start,after escape you have a message now Monolith will kill you,and very very good fight and items in the buiding ...one hour to explore all room and find the twelve!
Chimera,Zombie...fun!
But this mod is genious because we have time to explore and discover many things...then meet and help a stalker and go to Bar...

Be carefull ,on the forum they said that a repack torrent was not good with many differents errors.
The modders recommanded original three files on Yandesk (mod and two fix).
No problem for the moment,sometimes when we change map game crash,but need to reload the autosave and go again.

Yes the mod is very fun to play,but very too easy!
When you explore the maps you will find many incredible items in a lot of stashes.
Too much stuff!

Well, nevermind then. I just can't get the 3.0 version from the yadi.sk page ( this one : https://yadi.sk/d/a4BS3jDNXCtzh ). The Download button can't be clicked by me, like it can be for the fixes. No idea why.

P.S. - Using Internet Explorer shows that the download limit has been exceeded.

Found version 3.0 on Baidu, but several attempts have seen the file die out after forty to fifty percent downloaded. So, guess I'm screwed far as this goes.

That's of course all and good, but I will need to wait until I figure it out myself, or look around elsewhere. I don't see a reason to guess at things, and miss the newly written story and plot simply because I failed to edit some files correctly.

I'll wait and play with a few files, see if I myself can get it going. Those bits of story at the start, ( the screen shot I took ) set up the first part of it all, so I'd rather not miss out from the very beginning. The first NPC I also need to talk to has certain jobs, but I've no idea either what they are, or their objectives. Other NPCs do have selection and response menus correctly done, they are just the sort of 'What's new in the Zone?' and such options, so the core functions are there and work.

Try just with that in your localisation.ltx

font_prefix = _west ;_cent

Create a eng folder under text
Copy all eng text files (45) in it.

I play like that (but in french eng->fra).


The main menu is it OK?

Maybe try patch 1 patch 2 then translation then change rus to eng in the text folder that's what I did.

I haven't no, I'm on 4G EE mobile broadband and I'm using MEGA to upload the folder. I get around 2-3MB upload speed, although it does drop a bit sometimes.

The two (dropbox,yandesk) free ,have a really low upload.
Ten hours for 3.5 Go,one hour for you!
(with good network also...but mine not bad... for living in mountain ! )

I only have a free MEGA account which I only just created just to upload this gamedata folder for Seeker of Strelok, I tried mediafire but the upload speed was poor so thought I would try MEGA which is great, where do you live France ?

Seems that localization file did the trick, most of the text is in English, none of the Sakharov bit was though, which was fine. I've had a few random crashes here and there, and picked up a Barret .50 Cal off of a dead Merc in the Rostok area.

I'll give the file you uploaded a look through Njc123, simply because I'm curious to see if there's any other differences.

Particles_Tele_Object with the fire_distort ?

I think they forgot this effect in the new particle.xr
(since the launch of the mod,there are 3 particles files,one original and one different with each fix).Need to unpack and compare...

But it's not a serious bug,and we can follow the story.

that Particle_Tele_Object = static\fire_distort is in the Vanilla m_Burer.ltx file so I assume its in the vanilla particles.xr

odd that its crashing saying it doesn't exist...

Yes ,still an other stalker oddity!
Because in addition ,the particle is in the file!
Three time I had this crash and in the Garbage ,there is a localisation near an anomalie ,game freeze and stop with this crash.

On ap pro ,Time change 30 best mod ClearSky :

I discovered game doesnt load shit properly in CoP when its not in a .db file. Placing anything in .db file seems to fix ANY file access issues. I guess its the same for CS.

Not sure if it helps. Just saying.

I still can't get this mod to work.

It say's cant open file

"fsgame.ltx check your working folder"

I've tried it with Steam and GOG versions,

I'd appreciate that, unfortunately I only have Steam and GOG installed at the moment, I tried installing a dvd copy yesterday but it refuses to offer an installation option and instead diverts me to the Steam copy to play so I'll probably have to uninstall Steam and maybe Gog versions to install the DVD copy first.

Well, I'm loving this mod - really nice to have a good mod based on CS - way overdue imho.

However, oh my golly gosh, it badly needs 'some' balancing. A silenced MP5 does more damage than an AKM 74, and the same as a Vintorez...

Got stuck...

I've returned to Forester with the frequency for the stalkers trapped in the endless loop.

Forester has given me the task "Find the entrance to the bladder" - but nothing is marked on the map.

He also mentions looking for a "Compass" artefact , saying The last time I got into it from nearby mines, go back and look for the entrance.

I've looked in Darkscape and Forest - in and around all mines/areas - but have found nothing...

Any pointers???

However, I edited my way around the problem, by rewarding finding the Oasys by giving a Compass.

Good thing you worked it out.

The mod has nice reviews by the Russian community. V3.0 attempts to be a continuation of the Clear Sky story.
I started it once but stopped playing after a few initial quests, not because it wasn't enjoyable but because I didn't have much time. I liked what little I played, so there's that...
