@ sqparadox - Thank you, glad you like what we do.

There are no more companions for Loners, and we do not consider adding any in the future. You have to know that adding another NPC like a companion requires much effort, and for now we don't feel like it.

Because story-wise, the Zone changed a bit after the emission ending Clear Sky and not every path is still available. Enabling that path will not affect faction wars at all, as they still won't choose to use it, but the real problem is that we ignored it when making our companions. If you use that path, the companion will loose all his equipment. I'm afraid there is no easy way around that, cause you'll have to unpack the TFW all.spawn and do some editing there, and then turn towards editing scripts. I can help you out, but you have to figure out how to use the acdc.pl yourself in order to unpack the all.spawn.

@ Rm4g3dD0v - Could you upload the logs somewhere else cause MediaFire doesn't seem to work for me right now? Like www.pastebin.com or something? Or just post 12 last lines here from the xray_*.log file? It would be much easier for both of us, don't you think?

First off, I want to thank you guys for an absolutely amazing mod. I actually bought Clear Sky specifically to play this mod, and I haven't set foot in vanilla aside from testing some things.

I've been playing since I read about version 1.8 of the mod on Rock Paper Shotgun. I came back for 2.0 and put in 60 hours before getting bored. But I was recently in an FPS RPG mood and happened to catch you guys right around the 2.5 release.

IMHO, as a first person character building party RPG, your mod is unrivaled; even among retail games. I can get the same thing in a fantasy setting but there's nothing like what your mod offers. I've spent 99% of my time as a loner, so I really can't comment on being a member of a faction; but just watching the war unfold around me makes the game feel like living breathing world. A bit ironic given the name.

And now a few Questions/Suggestions:
Are there any other companions you can get as a loner besides Ant? If not then I would humbly suggest that; it would certainly add to my game. Especially if he had some requirement, like having to be a higher level or having to do a quest.

Secondly, why doesn't the path between the Swamps and Agroprom Research Institute work? It tells me that the path is blocked. Is this something to do with vanilla or was it a conscious decision for whatever reason? I don't know if it was a balancing thing, but in all of my games the Mercs always seem to get boxed in by Duty. Perhaps Clear Sky coming at Duty directly from the Swamps would give the Mercs a chance to branch out. Just my 2 cents.

And finally, could I implement just the passage myself without you guys having to do a lot of work explaining things to me? Like I said, I'm just a loner, so I don't really care what it does to the faction war. I have done some light scripting in the past, I'm just wondering how feasible it would be.

Sorry for the wall of text, and thanks again for your wonderful mod.

This is not a patch! It will not solve the problem of C stack overflows, it will just help me pinpoint where the potential problem might be so you have to post a log after you get a C stack overflow crash. If you don't plan on posting logs, then there is no need to download that file.

Yep after seeing him after joining the other factions (well maybe not him, but a special loner talking with the trader, i realised they must be special exceptions.

Moving to uni tomorrow (a month earlier than i thought) so i wont be able to do much testing

but when im back here on my good comp ill test when i can

I use process explorer (task manager fracking sucks ex-junkie-now-zombie ass). However i did so with "set affinity" command and tried with 2 or even 1 core. However, using 1 core is a bit more stable but slower than death.
I play on high detail settings with full dynamic lighting (not enhanced).

My cpu is an AMD 6950@2.3Ghz (no o/c), I have 3.2GB (actually 4) ram ddr2/800 with good timings (it's GEIL), and my vga is an MSI GF9600GT-512mb. I use 32bit winxp sp3 (a four year old fracked up installation; I plan to move to w7 ultimate 64 once I have the monies for an OCZ Vertex or Agility SSD). Should I try lower detail and lighting?

I'm playing TFW 2.5 as a Loner and I went to an anomaly field where there are bunch of Electro and Psy anomaly, (In vanilla you can save a loner from Concentration camp and he'll give you a stash in there with Hydroshock rounds and upgraded Colt) I picked up a sparkler and a Stone blood and the bandits turned hostile to me, do you know a fix or what the problem is?

Edit: Never mind, apparently every time I walk out from Depot, I become hostile with bandits for apparent reason.
Scratch that it's not simply walking out of Depot, I think after I slept in Depot and then walked out I had a problem.


Update 2: Just did more through checking, I walked towards the Electro n Psy anomaly field in Garbage and I think I was at the Irradiated Pipe where there's a gravitation anomaly and Bandits became hostile

same here in all TFW versions. The bandits become hostile no matter what. It happens as soon as the "outpost past concentration camp" is captured by bandit faction, when it's time to move to capture Cordon.

As smoq once said it happens if your xrengine.exe is cracked. I use the "BATTERY-TEAM" one (hate to admit it on official forums, but here in greece the cheapest copy of CS I found, costs €36 plus €7 for postage ).

I'm not the best at reporting crashes but eh this one was weird. I think it has to do with that c stack overflow... I do have a quad core. But this happened literally twice in a row. Anyways this was the log. I hope you can fix it somehow Lol.
