Strange activity in Rostok after 2 months in-game

I'm currently playing a mostly unmodded game of STALKER, the only mods being a bit of ZRP and random skins/Argus textures. I am past two in-game months in so far and very odd things have begun to happen in Rostok (the Bar) recently; I'm curious if anything like this has happened to anybody else.

For one, Sergeant Kitsenko and his men were killed by invading Military a week ago, while there is nothing odd about this, they have been replaced by Expert Dutyers in PSZ-9Md Universal Protection Suits and packing Groza OC-14's.

The amount of STALKERs in Rostok has risen noticeably, and instead of sitting at campfires these mysterious new Loners are wandering all over the place, even and especially into places I have never seen them go. At this point Loners are going, sometimes even two at once into Duty territory and into the entrance to the Arena where Arnie once stood.

The Dog Lair near the level changer to Garbage is now being patrolled constantly by a handful of Veteran and Expert STALKERs and sometimes a Dutyer who are killing off all the Blind Dogs.

All sorts of STALKERs are now wandering into the Twilight Zone beyond the Wild Territory level changer, even Rookies and Experts, but never actually going into the next level or too far into it.

I have massive stashes in the Rostok so I get a long pause when wandering into the actual populated parts of Rostok. Possibly due to the increased population after the pause, Dutyers and STALKERs are pushed into the Twilight Zone, from which they slowly walk out of, even going through walls to do it! The Blind Dog perma-corpses near where Sergeant Kitsenko once stood also get oddly stretched out after pauses.

Has any of this ever happened to anybody else?

The stretched corpses is a well known vanilla bug. If you search the corpse, it will snap back to position, but it could actually kill you instantly when it does so. And it won't prevent other corpses from stretching out either. Apart from that, the other behaviour I have not seen.

*Edit: Your ZRP install doesn't have NatVac's population control in it does it? That apparently (I haven't tried it myself as yet, it is on my to-do list) makes NPC behaviour go different to what it normally does.

The plot thickens! Two hostile Exoskeleton wearing STALKERs have shown up (two separate occasions, not both at once.) I couldn't kill them without pissing others off so I finally caved and installed a Spawn Mod to get a bloodsucker to kill him.

Very weird, as this is the only odd event in Rostok that I've had happen to me before, except in my last game it was a respawning hostile Rookie.

I fear I may have to relocate my base of operations at least temporarily, as sooner or later these mysterious hostile Loners may cause Duty to be pissed off at me, and then I won't be able to trade with Petrenko and get 9x39 mm SP-6 rounds from Voronin.

Ah, I have never heard of this before, thanks for telling me.

I don't think so; I'm only using small pieces of the ZRP like _g.script to make Pripyat playable, etc.

CoH~

I have only restarted a new game 3 times since SoC was released so all my games tend to be very long in terms of time.
The longer the games are the more odd things start to occur. I have had unexplained hostile Loners appear and I have come across Military, Loners and Mercs wandering in the 'twilight zone'. When the Military start invading Rostok a lot more activity and movement of Loners and Duty happens.

Cheers,
Mr Noonan

Ah, then it probably is what Mr Noonan has said by the sounds of it. The individual population fix was only released on August 2, and wasn't incorporated into the ZRP as a whole until the new XR1 release on 25 September (so you would have had to install the fix separately, and you would know if you had done that).

Nothing new here. Keep playing for a few Months more and it
even gets better. I've hunted down huge Bandit Parties of 8
or 9 and have killed over 100 Mercenaries in the Twilight Zone.

Wow, only three? I can't even count how many times I've started a new game personally. What did you do about the hostile Loners in your game, assuming any of yours have appeared in Rostok/the Bar? And yeah, I've made the Military invade many, many times after learning about how to do it from your and Tejas's posts and only after a bunch of instances of that have all of these odd events started happening.

Sounds awesome, I've only killed a mere 127 Mercenaries in my current game so far, period. I've been to all of the Twilight Zones after reading about how to get there from your posts but so far have only encountered nothing more than a lone Flesh.

Can't wait to see what other bizarre events occur, I just hope the hostile Loners don't keep occuring in Rostok as I'll either have to keep cheating or relocate my base of operations and just wander in there through the Twilight Zone as I need to have connections with Petrenko and Voronin for ammunition (the AS Val is my favourite weapon) and new SVDs.

If I wasnt able to kill them without anybody noticing (very hard) I usually just avoided them.

Makes sense, I guess there isn't much else that can be done about them. I haven't had any more pop up so far though, so that's good.

Also, speaking of strange activity. I'm sure you've already known this for a long, long time but I'm just saying in case somebody doesn't; Radar is a very fun level to walk through after wiping out everything and everyone in Pripyat (besides neutral STALKERs, Dutyers, and Freedomers of course.) Pseudogiants, Controllers, Pseudodogs, Snorks, Tushkanos, etc roam the level, moving towards Pripyat, Dutyers and Freedomers finally reappear in the level, etc. I've even seen Boars, Fleshes, and Mercenaries pop up in Radar and Pripyat once in a blue moon, migrating towards Pripyat!

Reaching the Stadium at Pripyat makes the North of the Zone extremely fun, causing all sorts of bizarre events and unleashing a large, infinite stream of Pseudogiants to have fun killing, among many other Mutants. Nothing like seeing the entire huge swarm of Exoskeleton STALKERs at the entrance of Pripyat get mowed down by a hoarde of angry Pseudogiants.

It really is a huge shame, however, that there is no way to have an infinite supply of Psy-dogs and Poltergeists in the unmodded game. Even if you don't stick around for a while and just finish your game ASAP, those two are still far too rare.
