Did you find the crates (or is that one crate, I don't remember) north of the Military Outpost but south of the Rookie Village? There's several hundred 9x18 mm rounds there that you can sell to Sidorovich for additional money.

Also, assuming you don't know this yet again, Electro Artefacts are only visible after 23:59 and until 4:59, there should be a Flash (or several Flashes, I don't remember this either) in the Electro Tunnel in the Cordon. You can sell a Flash to Sidorovich for 1625 RU each.

There are two unfinished Military Armours/Leather Jackets in the attic of the Military Outpost that you can sell if you don't like Collectibles.

Speaking of Collectibles, you can get your first pair of Binoculars (not counting the ones you have from the beginning) from Petruha if you try to trade with him. The next one is in the Garbage on one of Bes' men, but if you want those you'll have to bring him an Abakan. Drop it next to him and he'll pick it up and drop his weapon, along with his pair of Binoculars. This trick works with the Renegade Dutyer with the Binoculars, but is much harder because you'll likely have to give him a VSS Vintorez and when he dies it'll likely be degraded. There are additional Binoculars in the game, one that you can just pick up at the Chernobyl NPP and one on the first group of Monolithians that you encounter in Radar, to get the latter you (I think) have to wound him so that he drops his weapon and the Binoculars. I'll need to test that in my next playthrough to be sure though.

I'd quote you specifically on that part only but eh since I am unsure and don't want to make a fool of myself I eh copy pasted, anyway that's good news for me seeing as how I have 1 that's terribly degraded from an anamoly. Hopefully he won't care. Be nice to get my first pair this game since petruah went off and got himself killed before I could get them from him, oddly as in every game of SoC I've kept him alive by just attacking the bandits alone and defending him from mutants. He'd usually last.

The guy you want is the one using Binoculars to see when the Bandits are going to attack the camp. Petruha spent a long game of mine once just standing in the same spot trying to look through Binoculars that he no longer had and doing absolutely nothing else while all of his comrades went and fought the Bandits. Unfortunately in my current one he quickly went and got killed by them. There are almost no named NPCs left alive in my game, even Lukash and Skinflint have recently bit the dust.

It's one of the first things I always go for along with all the hidden stuff in the village.

Haven't been to the tunnel at night yet, because they normally delay spawn for me. I keep them though nothing beats moving around for longer

Go up to the base but instead of going in walk to the far left until you see the fallen tree, jump over the fence and head to where the pile of random junk and the outhouse are. Get on top of all that and jump to the top of the building in front of you, there should be some random crates/boxes in the attic, break them and all of the stuff in them will likely fall through the floor. Jump out of the attic once you've broken everything and you will find the two Collectible Leather Jackets/Military Armours and a LOT of Tourist Delight cans.

From trade_trader.ltx:

[supplies_start]
;Àììóíèöèÿ
ammo_5.45x39_fmj = 1, 0.1

;Îðóæèå
wpn_groza_m1 = 1, 0.1

;Áðîíèêè
killer_outfit = 1, 0.1

;Ìåäèêàìåíòû
bandage = 5, 0.6
medkit = 5, 0.3
antirad = 5, 0.3

;Åäà
bread = 10, 0.5
kolbasa = 10, 0.5
conserva = 10, 0.5
vodka = 10, 0.3
energy_drink = 10, 0.3

The numbers on the left are how many will be stocked and the number on the left is the chance for each of the items to be stocked, so the Merc Suit and the 5.45 Groza are both equally unlikely to be stocked.

My favorite thing to do is get the Pistol and the ammo south of the
Rookie Village. Don't go rescue Nimble yet. Instead sneak into the
Military Base using the tree on the fence and go to the attic first. Get
the supplies and then jump down and kill the Soldier watching TV. Grab
his AK and ammo and repeat as each Soldier comes in. Eventually you'll
defeat everyone there with determination and then after all the Loot and
having a better Gun go back to Wolf and say "Ready to go rescue Nimble".

More oddities abound! I took a trip down to the Cordon and found the Military Guardpost attacking Guide's group and the Abandoned Farm with no provocation! (I had not killed any Military nor visited Cordon recently so there was no cause for traveling Military groups)

I wiped them all out before they could do more harm and went south, killing the Bandits at the Carpark for Sidorovich. Soon to my surprise I found out that the Military Outpost at the very south of Cordon had heard of the aforementioned events and decided to join in the fun, with random soldiers assaulting the Boar Lair, Rookie Village, and even the STALKER Camp under the bridge.

To make things even odder, while this was happening a STALKER from the Rookie Village, as well as everybody under the Bridge left their positions and all headed for the Boar Lair for an epic showdown with three Military guys who attacked it. After the fireworks the guys from the latter Camp went back to hanging out around their campfire while the Rookie Village guy proceeded to wander all over the Cordon, walking into all sorts of odd places such as the inside of the Trailer near where Tolik is first found. Who says Cordon is boring?

Speaking of things that should happen after massacres that trigger movement of Mutants and NPCs, it's now happening in Radar. As soon as I walked in from the Army Warehouses (after not having visited for a week in-game time) I was ambushed by two Exoskeleton Zombified STALKERs and a Zombified Merc. Along with the usual Military-Monolith battle, this time there was also a Bloodsucker that appeared right after I killed them all.

Moving further on I met a particularly large Blind Dog pack, and while fighting them TWO Controllers appeared, attacking my mind. After having killed them I went further North on the road, meeting a second huge Dog pack and another Bloodsucker.

I've seen all of this happen before, as well as with many other odd events, but now it all seems to be increasing and happening for no reason. ZRP's fix for Pripyat no longer works and I get crashes often and can't save at all, and the population in the dead city itself has risen noticeably, possibly the cause of it.

I get massive lag in the southern part of it, there's now TWO Controllers haunting the Duty Base there on a normal basis (as well as enough Dutyers to truly call it a base now,) over ten Pseudogiants and a ton of Snorks at the Stadium, more Boars and a whole pack of Blind Dogs now running amuck in the South, etc.

I know of the A-Life event that triggers Pseudogiants, Controllers, Blind Dogs, etc to spawn in Pripyat but is it also scripted to increase the spawns every time you visit the Stadium and/or Pripyat or something? I am definitely noticing abnormally large activity in Radar and Pripyat nowadays. Radar used to be boring until I visited Pripyat and caused Mutants and NPCs to move North so I am grateful that things are now spiced up there but this is making Pripyat a pain in the arse due to all the lag, crashes, not being able to save, etc. :\

This isn't as odd as the Blind Dog in Yantar but almost as weird. I was just leaving Dark Valley after visiting X18 to stock up on Buckshot Shells (I keep the majority of my crap in X18 because I got sick of the pauses every time I visit Rostok) for my Rostok stashes and as soon as I got into the Garbage THIS happened.

Just another beautiful dark in the Garbage.

Looks like I'm not alone he- wait what?!
http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/2817/sscatouttahell110110162z.jpg

I brought nothing but a SPAS-12 because I assumed I'd only have to fight Mutants. Decided to run away because he was hiding behind the level changer and I couldn't get close enough to do anything.

First a Military STALKER in the Agroprom Underground, now there's one here, what the hell is going on?!

What the HELL?! I just met a Military STALKER (Military guy in a Military Armoured Suit packing an AS Val) in the Agroprom Underground! I checked the vanilla smart_terrain_presets and apparently "master" level Military guys are allowed to spawn there, though I have never seen anything like this occur before. o_O
---END QUOTATION---

You were fortunate, CoH. The respawner sites in vanilla reset every time you load a save or change levels, so normally those vacancies get filled by low-tier (e.g., rookie or experienced) NPCs over and over. This is one thing that the Respawner Population Management minimod fixes, so you see more variety.

---QUOTATION---
everyone in the Freedom base has gone rogue! Everybody left the base randomly, including Skinflint and Lukash. Skinflint had almost nothing to trade after he left for some reason, and he died trying to protect the Barrier from mutants. Screw died in the Bloodsucker Village, Lukash's bodyguards, and most of the Snipers died in the Minefield. Most surprising? Lukash himself died in Radar fighting Monolithians.
---END QUOTATION---

This happens when you have the aes_arrive_to info_portion. Normally one gets that when one visits the NPP, which in vanilla means you never know about the Freedomers' new-found freedom. You might also get this in ZRP free play if you are using a save based on a vanilla all.spawn, something that might have happened to Darkh4. The ZRP all.spawn stopped yielding that key in April 2008, so any recent ZRP version that supports free play (ZRP 1.05 Test R10, the MM/AS/ZRP 1.05 RC demos and the 1.07 versions) is safe for important members of the Freedom faction.

It is possible that you have a very old _dev.script, or you executed one of the vanilla test scripts, or you are using the ZRP's zlc.script file to give yourself new level changers and have visited the vanilla NPP and returned.

Or some accident happened and your game glitched.

Actually that first group of military are probably a roving group whose logic might be broken in vanilla and fixed in a ZRP logic script. They look like Spetsnaz but just have AK-74SU peashooters. While you were doing battle, you attracted the attention of the Cordon blockpost to the south and then saw the expected behavior.

Usually when you deal with military in the Agroprom or points north, they have better weaponry when you encounter them in their replacement migrations.

I've never claimed that the ZRP "fix" for the Pripyat abort() crash was a fix for all Pripyat problems -- in fact I've claimed just the opposite. (Ask Kane4.) What you need is the crash log. There are a couple of Pripyat crash fixes that require all of the ZRP to fix, including a game based on the ZRP all.spawn. And there are still crashes in the game* even with the fixes. Most you can fix just by knowing what the log says.

I can guess, though, based on your problem description, CoH. It could be out of memory or a controller animation crash, as those two often happen in Pripyat. There are four Pripyat controllers in vanilla after you visit the stadium and only two in the ZRP. With the bad level defects, Pripyat really looks like a place that the devs wanted you to rush through, wanting more but denied by the sudden no-option transition to the NPP, so no attention was placed on managing the "rush" created by the Stadium trigger.

You can try to lower texture quality and reduce other graphics effects if it is a memory issue. As of ZRP 1.07 you even have the ability to individually eliminate one, two or three of the controller postprocess effects which can help prevent the crash that happens on a heavy level (Army Warehouses, Pripyat) following a terrible slowdown due to memory swapping.

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Tejas Stalker, didn't you start playing with patch version 1.0003 (or something earlier than 1.0004)? I know that some of Marked One's statistics in vanilla were greatly exaggerated starting with 1.0004...
