Windows7 64bit regedit Tweak?

I've looked everywhere for the supposed tweak that ended all the HARD LOCKS(can't cnt+alt+del, monitor goes into no signal and goes black, can't hear anything, can't see desktop, HAVE to reboot) I've been getting. But I only see the tweaks are only doable with WinXP since when I tried to do so with Win7 the folders/files and such are totally different.

I've turned off MOM and CCC and used the -noprefetch on startup. Still hard locking. I can play BF3 and Crysis on max so don't tell me my PC is overheating with its 4 fans+1 liquid cooling agent on the card(no it's not in a cabinet). I've updated drivers/video card and dx and read everything else possible for improvements. Had this PC for half a year now and never had a problem with anything before. No my PSU isn't bad nor is my voltage. I've verified game cache files integrity.

Currently i'm on patch 1.0005 and staying there. Installed complete mod 2009 which supposedly was supposed to fix the crashing (it doesn't).

tl;dr
Please someone tell me how to do the regedit tweak for windows7? I'd post an error crash log from stalker however as I said I get hard locks, not crashing to desktop.

specs:
Bought this game through steam.
Win7 Home Prem Service pack 1 DirectX11.0
Intel core i7 960 @ 3.20 ghz
DDR3 12gig corsair
ATI Radeon HD 6870 1gig

Haven't played Clearsky or pipyrat yet so if you have any warnings/fixes for those let me know.

I play this game on max settings(no vsync, no eax sound) with full dynamic lighting.

I could have a gunfight for about 20-30 minutes in one area with temp still at 40degrees, but once everyone is dead, I walk up to a building and hard lock.

Sorry about the attitude, just really annoyed. At the moment all I do is close CCC.exe and MOM.exe and use -noprefetch, that's all I got after reading forum after forum for about a week.

-------------------

Well I just got done playing pipyrat with no issues whatsoever for about 10 hours. ShoC and clear sky still keep crashing though.

Windows7 64bit regedit Tweak?

I´m unsure what you mean by this, so this post may be superficial, but if what you´re looking for is to free up more memory for the game on your (otherwise fine) system, here goes: (8.post)

To a veteran stalker (layman) it sounds like you have a BSOD without the actual blue screen.

(Easy) Things to try: Read the relevant "important" stickeys atop this single player bugs-forum, play offline from steam and disconnect from all other internet activity, try lowering your settings, update stalkers core audio files (haven´t played with "complete", so i cannot say whether this is done with that mod) ...

Good lcuk!

Well i'm not sure if i'm right or not.. but is stuttering the cause of the crashing? If so I'm not getting any REAL stutters(half a second every 5 or so minutes), I just get random off the wall BSOD's. I'd be SO HAPPY if I could just get it to crash to my desktop and not restart my whole damn pc.

I've tried to do the alt+tab thing as one poster mentioned doing so while turning off the monitor but I've gotten no luck with it after trying several occasion. now I'm realizing that most of the forums are trying to get the player to acquire more ram and I don't have that issue. (I have 12 gigs of ram, ffs)

At most instances when I do crash it's not at a spot where i'm likely to stutter or load spots of an area. I've been reading a bunch of threads with about 38 pages of posts and yet to see a solution lol.

Tried complete and uninstalled and tried float, neither worked. From what I can tell from most posters the only that stopped it from crashing was the regedit. I still duno how to do it on win7 lol

If the edit doesn't after that i'm giving up.

I´ll repost a section of the link from my previous post then:

"If your system has more than 2GB of availiable memory, you need to make the OS avare of this. It is wrongful to assume that the Vista 32 and 64 bit (and 7? ) OS is not limited by the 2GB memory-limit. It is most likely set at 2048MB per default, which is more than enough for most ( SP ) games released to this date, but Stalker SoC/CS are exceptions to this rule, as they´ll eat up 1.6 GB just to load the vanilla game."

And if you´re going to "flick the switch", then remember:

"As you are used to being warned, it is indeed a good idea to create a backup of things such as the BCDEdit.exe (Vistas boot.ini file) before making any changes to it. ( read: Make a backup before toying with stuff like this! Just do it! ) "

I´m almost certain the BCDEdit-thing can be done with win7...

Good lcuk...
