Weapon Positions Mod

This is nothing new if you have already seen my thread in the Mod Discussion forum but I thought I'd post a download link in here for anyone who might not have seen it. This is fully compatible with both 1.0003 and 1.0004. If you want to make the changes manually see the thread linked below for detailed instructions. The ltx files contained in this zip use vanilla settings for everything other than the entries related to weapon position (no changes to dispersion, hit power, etc.)

Download:
http://rapidshare.com/files/50365520/NewWeaponPositions.zip

For a fuller description, screen shots, instructions, questions, comments, hurling of insults (warranted or unwarranted), see:

^ crap, looks like I can't direct link to the thread, just search for "New Weapons Positions" if the thread becomes buried.

Ok, here are the completely reworked G36 values. The last three values are new and have been modified from the originals to make the scope zoom-in appear more natural when a grenade launcher is attached to the weapon. I have included all of the values here, but only the last three are new. The other values are identical to those included in the download.

[wpn_g36_hud]

orientation = (0, 0, 0)<---stock new---> 1.5, 0, 0

position = -0.015, -0.028, 0.075

zoom_offset = (-0.135500,-0.006000,0.000000) -0.11,-0.006000,0.000000

zoom_offset = (-0.135500,0.010000,0.000000) -0.11,0.010000,0.000000

grenade_zoom_offset = (-0.142900,-0.234600,0.000000) -0.1,-0.234600,0.000000

grenade_normal_zoom_offset = (-0.142900,-0.234600,0.000000) -0.11,0.01,0

grenade_normal_zoom_rotate_x = (-0.266700) -0.0159

grenade_normal_zoom_rotate_y = (0.002000) 0.0002

And for those who don't want to change the values manually, here is a vanilla w_g36.ltx file with only the positions changed and grenade launcher capability added.

The default values you have listed for grenade_normal_zoom_* actually belong to grenade_zoom_* Did you mess up the name or the values?

The default values for grenade_zoom_offset and grenade_normal_zoom_offset are identical. I just extracted the gamedata.dbb archive to make sure I hadn't screwed something up. That's why when you zoom in with the scope with a grenade launcher attached it looks kind of wack. The new values are different, as well as the grenade_normal_zoom_rotate_x and grenade_normal_zoom_rotate_y values that I posted. These changes were made to fix that.

You're right. I forgot that when I was modding I accidentally pasted the zoom_* numbers into the grenade_normal_zoom_* area and never fixed it.

Is it possible to make so that the barrel on the winchester is pointing a bit more down, so it lines up with the cross hair?

EDIT: Never mind i did fix it my self

My changes

position          = 0, -0.0500, 0.125
zoom_offset       = -0.1202, 0.106, -0.127

What's up Ceano,

Yeah, that position looks better for lining it up with the crosshair. Actually, I had it looking perfect, but I had to modify one of the orientation values. The problem was when adjusting the ironsights, I could line the rear sights to where the crosshairs would be, but the front sight was permanently pointing down slightly, so I scrapped those changes. Anyway, thanks for sharing.

In widescreen mode, you see alot more of the weapon anyway this way, will it still look ok if I use these new positions or will my widescreen monitor throw it off?
