My Bug Report #1

* When in the server browse menu, the buttons (JOIN, REFRESH, etc.) sometimes stop responding. I press the buttons and nothing happens for a while. This may continue for anywhere between 5 to 20 seconds. Ten, all of a sudden they start responding again.

* The Filter settings do not get saved! WHY?! I WANT THEM TO BE SAVED!!!

* In some maps, there are farmhouses which have ladders you can climb to reach the top floor of the farm house. Going up is not a problem, but sometimes there is a wooden ledge blocking admission to the ladder when trying to get down. The player then needs to jump out of the farmhouse, and sometimes even this doesn't work. Please fix this collision bug.

* I spotted an extremely laggy player on one server today. He warped around like no tomorrow, and for this reason I would like to request a ping filter option. Also, if the player's ping is too high, he should be kicked from the server automatically. A feature like this should be implemented, such that the admin of each server can decide the ping limit of his/her server.

Will this information ever reach GSC, or am I writing this in vain? I feel like every bug report/suggestion I make falls upon deaf ears.

You're absolutely right. No one hears you. Might as well write this on toilet paper and flush it down the drain.

Ahem.

To be honest m8,

The community wanted anti cheat theyre working on ot
They wanted SDK - MP Beta released and SP SDK is being worked on.
SOME issued which we all moaned about have been fixed in 1.003
Other issues are being worked on in 1.0004 which is due.

We cant expect everything overnight and looks to me like they are listening if not answering.

That is true, but not receiving any sign of acknowledgment from the devs or even Don Reba is extremely frustrating, especially since I've lately fallen in love with this gem of a game. Also, since the game is so expansive, there are lots of bugs to cover, most of which have probably yet to gain any attention from GSC. I am however glad that GSC supports the game, no matter how slow the process of releasing patches, and I will definitely buy S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 if/when that comes out.

I respectfully disagree

I think the patches has been coming out in a speed that one can expect.

GSC is a small team (compared to others like valve or ID) Coding and compiling patches takes time, replicating errors is not an easy job, replicating reported errors must be a nightmare (at least I imagine it is) and I'm sure not all can be replicated.

GSC should have earned respect by now, they have with there FPS gone places where no other games has gone before, I would actually go as far as calling GSC pioneers. Now I can only imagine how difficult it must have been creating a game like stalker is... Stalker is in my book beyond compare to any other FPS today, if you take a close look into the game and open your mind to all the details, possibilities, the gameplay and everything else I'm sure you could appreciate how difficult a task creating this FPS must have been... Due to that fact you should also be able to really understand how much work it will require to actually find that snippet of code that needs change to fix one bug... Now imagine patching up 68 bugs as where patched in the first patch.

I really do understand the frustration of the lack of devs in this forums, but as don_Reba has plainly explained before, the majority of the devs do not speak English to well (not everyone does you know.) hence the lack of interactions made by devs.

With regards to Don_Reba, he does an excellent job, he is one of the best community managers I've ever experienced (along with Alison Berryman from Gearbox Software)... It's simple if there's nothing to tell what should he do ?.. simply tell you "I don't know" ? Is that really necessary ?

There are lot of things I to find frustrating about GSC, but for most parts that's there weird choices for MP. I'm talking about the lack of Anti-Cheat, no SADS, the lack of essential server settings and the fact that there is no demo record function in stalker.. All of the above is something I can not understand. To be honest it's noobish and something I would expect from a company like UBI.

Thanks to there choices above the MP is killed by birth, it was already dead and buried before the birth of stalker. No clans with respect for them selves will ever pick up and start playing a game like this. This is truly the recepie on how to kill your MP game as fast as possibly.

The fact that GSC in the interview with stalkerfrance confirmed that they had no plans for SADS yet simply confirms that stalker is worthless for clans, it doesent even help if they add AC in my opinion, no games have lasted in the clan scene without SADS, at least I can not think of any.
