Major graphic problems, please help!

I'm new to posting messages in game forums because I don't have a lot of issues with games but...... This game is giving me fits. Ok, here are my specs.
Gateway 4200 AMD duo core:
2 gig ram:
BFG NVidia 7900GT card:
Latest drivers installed also.

My problem. After playing a half hour or so these weird graphic anomalies pop up like walking along and lines come out of your gun or on the grass then you can't see because of triangles on the screen when you turn your head to look. Like looking at the grass or ground and seeing different parts of the sky. Then it just gets worse. On the first level it crashed my computer 4 times. So bad everything was locked up and had to reboot by turning the computer off by the switch. 4 times in one hour! I have tried numerous configurations in the video section but none seem to fix it. I think this game has serious issues with it. I'm not new to fps games. If I don't have it, you don't need it. lol Anyway Pyschotoxic had serious issues too on this computer but thats a different story. It just wouldn't play. F.E.A.R. played great. Area 51 played great and Half Life 2 as well as Call of Juarez, Doom 3, Quake 4, Far Cry etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Same problem

Got exactly the same issue here, but happens even more often. Started the minute after walking out the first door. Can't play the game at all

This isn't the first game with the issue. I recently had the same issue in WoW: Burning Crusade. I looked it up in the Troubleshooting guide and read that the graphic bugs may occur because PixelShaders is turned on.

My specs:
2gb ram
GeForce 7600 Go / 512mb
Core Duo T2400 @ 1.83ghz

Major Grahics Problem

Thanks for your post rail. I tried playing it again changing around different configs and it plays fine after 10 minutes or so then the strange lines occur and then polygon type shapes start happening. Really weird. Never seen anything like it in all the games I've played. Which is a lot. lol
How do you change the pixel shaders? Also, I'm wondering if this game was made in Europe or the USA. I think games made in Europe are more incompatible for some reason. Like Pyschotoxic for instance. I had weird problems with that game on my other computer. Not graphics though, those were caused by their weird copyprotection upon starting the game.
I initially had to go to gamecopyworld and get a no cd fix patch that somebody had made otherwise I wouldn't have been able to play that game.
But I also tried it on my dual core 4200 and it won't work at all on it.
It just won't load. I think there is an issue also with dual core systems and some games. It's really frustrating to spend 40.00 bucks on a game that won't play. I will probably install it on my single core 3.06 processor
and see if that makes a difference. I have an X8oo pro Radeon card on that one. If it runs well on that machine then the dual core processors would be the problem. If it took 5 years to make this game then dual core machines weren't out yet. There is also an AMD optimization patch that is essential if you have an AMD dual core processor. Without that installed I wasn't able to play any games on that computer.

This is almost certainly an overheating issue.
