Is S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl worth playing today?|
This video is full of unnecessary spoilers, so I wouldn't recommend it to someone who has not yet played the game.
It also seems the video creator tries to be entertaining with added funny music and sound effects, which just prevents the viewer from appreciating the atmosphere of the game. This is a bit odd, since the creator himself agrees the atmosphere is one of the game's great strenghts.
I do agree that many of the mission objectives are uncomplicated, but that's not necessarily a bad thing unless you're very much into elaborate, novel-like plots. On the contrary I think it's the atmosphere, lore and plot that keeps the game interesting both during your 1st and 20th time playing, so the actual mission objectives don't really need to be very complicated.
