Replied. Short version: Those bugs don't exist in TK, which basically means my mod is more bug free than whatever mod the other guy is playing

Argh! There's another bug in my script - and nobody noticed it!

...except gsggamer1121 who thankfully exploited it.

Is anybody playing my mod at all??? I'm kinda disappointed

Nevertheless, I'm working on a second patch for 1.1 Beta, should be ready soon.

I do, even saw your post on the german Stalker Forum (planet stalker).

Though I still use the I guess first version you released. I merged that one myself with Wlads AMK Soljanka. I probably should update, maybe it get's rid of the blur I get when using iron sights without scopes.

I guess not a lot (whatever you would define as a lot in the Stalker Community) don't use it because, well. The amount of players who can't even change a simple script line (well they could, but are to lazy to do so because it means work for them) is probably bigger than the number of people who can and will spend some time setting the game up.

That's harsh reality today. Honestly I had to force my brother to read up on installing Mods for other games, otherwise it would end up with me installing hundreds of Mods for him (and him always moaning about how stupid all this is but still wanting to play like some mod author owes him something). Now that he knows his stuff around (somewhat) he does appreciate the work poured into mods a lot more.

EngineOfDarkness, you got mail

What sort of bugs me is the fact that I got nearly 2000 downloads of the first version of the mod (which of course is nothing compared to the big mods, but still a considerable amount), and that was without having published any previews or beta versions before releasing.

So for the version 1.1 I would have expected a huge response, after all the pix and viz I posted and so many people yelling "release, please release the mod! We can't wait anymore!"

But then, when I finally released it... well, the few downloads and responses I got after all the work I had, mainly due to my intention to make the mod as best compatible as possible... is really disappointing.

Solution to that problem Meltac: Delete all the older versions so people HAVE to use the newer version

Patch 2 for 1.1 Beta (non-cumulative version)

Hi folks, here's the announced second patch for the 1.1 Beta:

http://rghost.net/37642095

Will also be uploaded to moddb soon.
It's not cumulative, so please install Patch 1 prior to applying this one.

This small patch fixes the following issue: Scope texture is displayed on weapons with attachable scope (pso/susat) when zooming with iron sights.

Important note:
Although mentioned several times before; Few people reported repeatedly that the zoom DOF still doesn't work in some cases, or the entire screen becomes blurry when aiming with some weapons. This is not a bug, but happens in one of the following cases:

The mod hasn't been installed or merged correctly/completely
-- or --
The affected weapon doesn't have any zoom in aim mode.

There are two alternative ways to fix this:

1. (Recommended fix):
decrease scope_zoom_factor in the config file (.ltx) of the affected weapon(s), e.g. use a value of 40.

2. (Alternative workaround, but not perfect):
Open file shader_control.script and change the value of the variable "alternative_zoom_recognition" from false to true. Depending on the other mod(s) being run along with Dynamic Shaders, the values of the variables "alternative_zoom_accuracy" and/or "alternative_zoom_fov" need to be modified as well (requires some testing).

Note that the latter way, switching on and off the zoom DOF will have some delay when entering / leaving aim mode.

Please also consider the notes on my moddb page if you experience any issues with the mod.

Its good you fixed that overlay bug Meltac but I still think it was the responsibility of various mod authors to adapt their mod to your DoF not the other way around. I'm still using the origional script that fixed the GL overlay issue and since then TK doesn't have any problems at all, iron sights included.

I'm glad you (and other people) don't have issues, however in this particular case I'm pretty sure that's more the result of a lucky setup of conditions. Try removing the weapons you added to the script for the NV effect, after you might experience problems as well.

Regarding other mod author's responsibility to adapt my mod I agree with you. But since in most cases the original authors do not seem to care about my mod and it's rather the mod ]i]users who try to merge it into their preferred mod and have troubles with it, I think it's better to fix what might be fixed easily rather than to withstand the user's complaints all the time

Luck has nothing to do with TK working with your DoF, I'm a perfectionist so won't quit on something until it is literally perfect (or as perfect as Stalker will allow). Its probably why TK is taking so long to reach the fabled "final" stage I do know what you mean about users complaing though so many times I have or have seen users moaning about something thats usually down to a error on their end even though they swear it isn't lol.
