I noticed couple of strings were not translated and I didn't use any optional things the mod offered.

the strings are

Novice_outfit_description and novice_outfit_name

job never (refusing trader's quest so it doesn't show anymore)

If you want I can provide translations for them when I get back from work. I don't remember anything else. It wasn't too hard to find them once all gamedata was extracted.

Replaying the game I am finding some weird things, currently in garbage, probably a typo? When talking with Bes, in dialogue you get gar_hellcar_start_31114112. However, these same lines correlate with russian version gar_hellcar_start_311141112 (extra 1 at the end).

Typo? Version specific thing?

LeadHead, thanks for the playtesting! You don't need the Rostok minimap fix for ZRP 1.09; it's really only useful for those using vanilla or ZRP 1.05. And yes, the ZRP flashlight exacerbates the lack of light-culling through walls; there's no good answer for the short distance of the dim default flashlight.

The other tweaks are optional, too, as you indicated. This is what works for ZRP users: If you don't like a change, you can adjust it to whatever you want.

There will still be stuttering until the resources are cached for a level, but things are getting better. I hope to include a modified all.spawn to keep the secret stashes online to reduce this even further (see below).

And no, the PDA diary is broken. This should be fixed in the engine. I currently think that any hack fix via config/script will not be satisfactory, like putting everything in the "encyclopedia" category. But it is still on the list, just in case.

Mr. Fusion provided an excellent update to the markers so that they didn't stick. I'll examine it to see if this can be addressed. Thanks for mentioning it.

Thanks again for trying this so soon. I hope it is not off-putting; I enjoy frequent playthroughs because they are all different, but most players want a lot more variety when they play a game. I definitely appreciate the feedback!

Storm Shadow, the commented section starts with line 514 in universal_acdc.pl. Just search the file for inventory_box. I'm still using the original acdc.pl; what I did was take the extracted all.spawn alife_l*.ltx files and search for all instances of "section_name = inventory_box". For each such object, I replaced this line:

object_flags = 0xffffff3f

with this one:

object_flags = 0xffffff3b

This just changed the last 'f' into a 'b'. New game required to use the updated all.spawn, but it works well enough to be a significant contribution to the smoothness of the game, as even with SSDs you will experience lag when objects switch online the first time, and treasure boxes switching online seem to always cause a hitch while running.

Please note that this may not help with otherwise-vanilla games. The vanilla "marked-but-empty online stashes" problem might extend to the whole level instead of just the stashes received within switch_distance, so an accompanying loss workaround, either bardak's (used by ZRP) or AMK's, might be necessary.

Thanks for the contribution, openyourmind. About a month after you mentioned this localization issue a year ago (in your first post!), I put the promised ZRP Translation Guide on the ZRP downloads page, and about a month or so after that, easy peasy provided the files for the Russian translation. The dialog problem with Bes was solved a long time ago and gave ZRP compatibility with 1.0004, 1.0005 and 1.0006, and this gar_hellcar_start_31114112 quirk with Bes' dialog was kept for legacy (compatibility) support. Unfortunately, non-English localizations see the label instead of the text, as you found out.

These problems you found and addressed are also addressed by the translation file, but it is likely that most players who downloaded ZRP before these files were available (as in your case) are still unaware of the translation guide and the Russian translation. Hopefully your second post will serve to inform these players that a Russian ZRP translation is now available.

Mate, where do you find universal_acdc.pl? I only have the regular acdc.pl.

This has never happened to me. He always spawned with the correct model in my game.
Do you have any other mods installed?

Just ZRP.

Same thing with the informer, wearing general stalker uniform.

I think this is caused by "live ranking", and since they are loner faction game decides to give them next level loner suit, but I may be wrong. Fits the bill though.

Are you sure you don't have the AI mods enabled? It's only through those that NPCs can change their appearance.

In experimental AI of ZRP, here is what I have:
Grenadier
Live Stalker Ranking
Body Removal
Sawn off fix
Smart flashlights
Signle item rule

No other mods as I said before. I had a previous save where I didn't grind and all is ok with the deserter and informer.
 
Each word should be at least 3 characters long.
Search:    
Search conditions:    - spaces as AND    - spaces as OR
