Since CoopMod is of fashion, you can hire me NatVac to convert to zombie all pesters . I promise to do it flawlessly, unlike STALKER's AI.

GSC is under the strong grip of the market, creativity and devs count almost nothing. Everything they will do under this pressure and with haste, will result in deluding works. That is what I expect will happen to CS. Adding a lot of pieces of fruits to the icecream produces just another icecream not a fruitcake. Screw CS!

I'm also, among those that believe most of us will be playing ShoC, long after the release of CS with the adoptions Marteen mentions. So, if you will have still, the will and THE STRENGTH to make ShoC sleeker and stronger, do it the same way you have done until now. I can easily say that the logic displayed on what has to be done and how, has passed the test with max votes .

NatVac is the person who did the most for this game and this Community. I remember when he had much more time at the past, we could even send him files, but heh, I say better, he was a volunteer, appeared in certain mod threads without requesting by anyone, and did code what someone elses could not.
Who else did something similar? Nobody, neither then I.
NatVac, I hope you feel right, you are the person who I must a say to the biggest thanks, even as a personal thanks.

Sorry if it's bad grammar, I'm tired on my sickness since 2 weeks.

You're quite right Don, but then... There wasn'tt enough documentation or tools to really fiddle with AI until not so long ago... Also - lack of tools provided by developers pushed many of us to just fiddle with all these minor things, huge effort of creating total conversion (Priboi) seems to be less prised in eng speaking community than bunch of new guns etc...

Not that many want to play with reverse engineering, not to mention, that even less of us would know how to do it *proper* and take out exact conclusions...

Maybe that's why our community finished like that: chasing our own tail and creating yet-another-weapon-tweak and asking how to change headbob?

Sorry for bitter words - I'm aware that there are fine exceptions among us - I just wanted to point out some general tendency which can be seen reading posts around...
(..and - duh! - I'm finding myself chasing my tail like once a week too! )

Do I want another year of this? Would I survive it even if I did?

Now, Kanyhalos, Dezodor, and you are all burning out. This is a pity. I really hope you stick around, but I hope you do, because you find something you enjoy doing.

The game is a sandbox. Its main feature is the AI solver. Yet, everyone is fixing bugs, redrawing icons, and merging Russian mods, seemingly oblivious to it. CS is going to have an even more advanced solver. Maybe then someone will notice it.

Natvac, whatever you do, no matter how well you do it and no matter how much esteem you get for it there will always be someone who doesn't like what your doing.

Just remember, for every one of those idiots there is at least 2 forum goers who appreciate your work.

I haven't kept up much with zrp (lucky coincidence i decided to check out this thread now) , but i'll always remember the groundbreaking work you did with the Alive mod.

So don't worry about the ungreatful punks, kay?

Yes, BobBQ, nandersen has it: The game marker for the Storming Obokan can be in error.

My faith in my PDA is forever shattered. Thanks to both of you for clearing that up.

And I second what EggChen said. Don't give up, and remember what the Subgenii say: screw 'em if they can't take a joke!

I must admit NatVac that your post had upset me deeply...

Correct me if I'm wrong, and maybe it's a language barrier that makes me to interpret your words this way, but...

...if you want to tell us, that maybe most tallented and most dedicated of us all is on the verge of some burn out, because the rest of us isn't so open-minded to accept (or at least understand) your point?...

That's wrong man. Honestly, this should be the mod valued above any others, because it doesn't really mod anything and instead is an enormous effort of fixing the whole bunch of bugs we were all bitching about. "Vanilla fanboys"?, "gospel"?, "praise the flaws"?. But ZRP is vanilla. Without a doubt: better, fixed, improved - but still - vanilla...

After reading today about Clear Sky play-through in one of my local gaming magazines - I'm not that quite sure about moving to work with C.S. either. Maybe incorporating some of CS features or animations or scripts to SHoC, but beyond that... I don't know... Whole concept of some CS features isn't just right in my opinion...

Anyway. I hope you're going to review your previous statement and try to see it all in more brighter colours. Sorry to hear about your health - I hope you'll be better soon.

Take care!
MD

P.S. As I've mentioned before - stop riddling yourself with other mods or mini-mods compatibility. Sooner or later there will be someone to make them compatible with ZRP - original creators (better) or dedicated users (not too bad either)...

Umm.. and the game in Zork was called Double Fannucci...

Whatever you do Natvac, your work here has been appreciated. I for one recognise the smoother game I have from using the fixes implemented by ZRP, and even adding my own based on the discussions here. I have also learnt a few things here, thank you.

I hope the health reference was just a joke concerning what the Stalker widow may do to you, if not, hope you get better soon buddy.

hehe! That phrase made me laugh out loud.

I don't really care that much any more, Natvac. Soon we will be on to Clear Sky, and a whole new host of problems, bugs, crashes, arguments, and other computerised magic to keep us occupied
