Romulous, is it just that they dont get "damaged" when in an animation that youre worried about or just dont get hit at all when in a sequence?
I play on a quad core , and while I cant say if they are getting "damaged", they certainly get hit while in an animation sequence as you can see them quickly revert to another sequence when being hit.

Both...sort of (lol). Definitely the former. It is frustrating when you can fire a single shot at an enemy, then - while he is in his "I have just been hit" animation - fire an entire clip from an ak at him and he takes zero visible damage. Nothing seems to happen to him at all, he just continues to sway while in the animation. He then turns around when he finishes his hit animation, and kills you with a pistol in a couple of shots (so much for me being at full armour and health). This has actually happened to me by the way, I'm not just making it up as an example.

Probably the latter. I say probably because it's not just when they are in a sequence - but I find that quite a number of hits miss completely at any time when I am shooting at an enemy. They can be standing still, just walking slowly around, running after me (dogs for example), really any situation. As far as I am concerned, if my crosshairs are on an enemy, the bullets should be hitting the enemy. If the bullets aren't going to go where the crosshairs intersect like every other FPS ever made (as I have just realised, yes - I know that everyone else had probably already known this, but no one explained it to me), there is little point in having a crosshair as far as I am concerned. I might as well just run around without a gun, and when I come across an enemy, point my finger at the screen and go "bang, you're dead".

I know quite a number of people dispute the 'invulnerable' bug actually exists which frustrates the living you-know-what out of me, because I know otherwise. It was a daily occurrence on my old SHOC install for months. lol - There is a thread in the CS forums now where the last poster denies the bug exists. Apparently anyone who claims otherwise is just a moron.

I am with Romulous on this one. It happens to me consistantly. By chance does it ahve anything to do with using an AMD processor instead of an Intel ??

romulous - you do know the game has an iron sights function for a reason, I hope?

The iron sights in this game are awful. I don't use them, as the gun virtually obscures the NPC/mutant I am firing at, meaning I can't see where I am shooting. I may as well play the game blindfolded. Nope, crosshairs are the only way to go. They may be woefully inaccurate, but at least I can see what I am shooting.

I agree on this, if someone would just edit the weapon position in iron sights. I wouldnt hold a weapon that close to my eyes when firing.

The "permanent radiation" bug it is a systemic problem. It can happen with some of the other anomalies (maybe all). It is under-reported because we tend to avoid, or abandon swiftly the clearly delimited anomaly areas. With the radiation we don't have an idea where it is and how is spaces.

The problem with the rest comes to light when using mods with generous artifacts slots. Once you've equipped >100 we tend to walk freely into single anomalies and anomalies fields. In the second case, one may encounter the "permanence bug".

Personally, I have experienced with the psi-field effect(=rupture) , almost at the same level as the radiation one. Using enough rupture artifacts you can survive psi-fields, an exploit discovered long time ago. Almost regularly, I get the permanent blow-bleed effect related to it. In a lesser extent I have got the "permanent impact" trouble, while trying to self-repair inside gravitic mines. Maybe the lesser occurrence is because it requires areas where they overlap, just an idea.

There are some variables in the weapons ltx files that look interesting:

holder_range_modifier	= 1.0		       ; âî ñêîëüêî ðàç óâåëè÷èâàåòñÿ eye_range
holder_fov_modifier		= 0.7              ; âî ñêîëüêî ðàç óâåëè÷èâàåòñÿ eye_fov

;HUD offset in zoom mode (to all)
;(use CONSOLE: hud_adjust_mode 0,1,2, then keys WSADQE and P to show current value in console)

zoom_offset			= -0.110800,0.042200,-0.028000
zoom_rotate_x		= 0.015900
zoom_rotate_y		= 0.017500

zoom_hide_crosshair	= true ;to hide crosshair in zoom

I wonder if the zoom is adjustable...If so, it would have to be done on every weapon ltx file individually though

You have two options:
1) See your target well
2) Hit your target
And you seem to have chosen 1, so stop complaining about accuracy

I can tell you that the iron sights are just fine compared to real guns except, off course, the real ones don't have zoom

I just bought a quad core in these days, and I had to realise, that instead of performance growing (ok, my fps is much better), the more core causes more serious lag.
I had a dual core cpu before, with the same effects: whenever the game spawns npc-s, or I talk with npc-s, it causes a serious lag. And all because of that goddamn 1.0004-1.0005 patch, which moves the details calculations to the second core, and it lets the game fall out of synchronisation.

For example when I talk to Wolf first time and items spawned in my inventory, the game falls completely out of sync, and stops playing events for few seconds.
I tried to start the game with -nocpubinding command, but after few minutes the game went totally weird, fell out of sync, the weather suddenly changed, and everything, all events and npc were frozen (but I could exit from the game). I think that happened because of the amd cpu cool and quiet function, which constantly switches between cores and core loads, and x-ray wanted to use a core, which was switched off by cool and quiet...

The only solution I found until now, that with Cpu Control program I give just one core to the x-ray. exe, and now I can play the game with minimal (almost none) lagging.

Is there another fix for that spawn latency?
---END QUOTATION---

I always disable Cool & Quiet on my AMD CPU. Since my rig is only used for gaming, I want as much performance as possible
Temperature is not a problem, after playing COP for 3 hours my CPU is around 50-51 degrees Celsius, with the Stock AMD cooler provided with the CPU.

I have it enabled on my server though, since it is not always running full load Applications.

@ NatVac:
Looking forward to see if you can work your magic and free us from the Radiation bug
The workaround of retracing your steps isn't the most fail-safe method

I had a thought about blow-outs, instead of adding from another mod.
Is it possible to somehow activate the Vanilla blow-out script that you trigger when you enter the NPP? and do it randomly, or once every 2 days?
