Romulous, is it just that they dont get "damaged" when in an animation that youre worried about or just dont get hit at all when in a sequence?
I play on a quad core , and while I cant say if they are getting "damaged", they certainly get hit while in an animation sequence as you can see them quickly revert to another sequence when being hit.

---END QUOTATION---

Both...sort of (lol). Definitely the former. It is frustrating when you can fire a single shot at an enemy, then - while he is in his "I have just been hit" animation - fire an entire clip from an ak at him and he takes zero visible damage. Nothing seems to happen to him at all, he just continues to sway while in the animation. He then turns around when he finishes his hit animation, and kills you with a pistol in a couple of shots (so much for me being at full armour and health). This has actually happened to me by the way, I'm not just making it up as an example.

Probably the latter. I say probably because it's not just when they are in a sequence - but I find that quite a number of hits miss completely at any time when I am shooting at an enemy. They can be standing still, just walking slowly around, running after me (dogs for example), really any situation. As far as I am concerned, if my crosshairs are on an enemy, the bullets should be hitting the enemy. If the bullets aren't going to go where the crosshairs intersect like every other FPS ever made (as I have just realised, yes - I know that everyone else had probably already known this, but no one explained it to me), there is little point in having a crosshair as far as I am concerned. I might as well just run around without a gun, and when I come across an enemy, point my finger at the screen and go "bang, you're dead".

I know quite a number of people dispute the 'invulnerable' bug actually exists which frustrates the living you-know-what out of me, because I know otherwise. It was a daily occurrence on my old SHOC install for months. lol - There is a thread in the CS forums now where the last poster denies the bug exists. Apparently anyone who claims otherwise is just a moron.

I dont say it doesnt exist, just maybe a figment of your imagination

Just kidding. I have never noticed it personally, but it could be. I mean ,some people have delayed spawning on quads and others (like me) do not, so who knows.

If it was me and I was holding a gun with "crosshairs" over my target and fired, I would not be guaranteed a hit, I know this from personal experience, trust me when I say I am a crack shot on FPS but in real life I suck

lol

The delayed spawn is another rare multi-core bug (one that I had in the past on a SHOC install), and I believe the invulnerable bug is in the same category (ie multi-core related, but rare). So far, my dual core has not shown any signs of the invulnerable one. I've updated to Win 7 from the Win XP I was using when I had the problem on my quad core, so it is quite possible I think that I might not be able to get the bug back on my quad, as the whole environment will have changed. Though I do have video proof of the delayed spawn bug, I don't have any of the invulnerable bug If I can get some, I will post it here so people can see exactly what it is all about.

Point taken about the crosshairs too - if it was real life, I wouldn't expect many hits from myself (lol, probably not much better in FPS's). And the 100% accurate never miss enemies in SHOC would be in the same boat I suppose. Playing games like SHOC though is a way to get away from real life though, and there has to be some compromises with reality I think. The 'bullets go where the crosshairs intersect' is a good one I think.

Mr_Molecule! "So nice of you to stop by." Here I was thinking that maybe, just maybe, things would quiet down as folks moved to CoP. (Take a hint, guys, and "take a hike". I hear they talk like that in the "Brokelyn English" version of CoP.)
---END QUOTATION---

Natvac. Sorry, I don't check this thread very often. As for CoP, I don't have it yet, heck I have no idea when it's released here. I saw a banner that displayed March 10th. Ugh.

Its a tough call man.

Everyone is pushing for games to be more like real life and so what you want with a sorta "one shot one kill" will not fly too good with most I think.

Ironic, isn't it? Trading "living the real life" for playing a game and wishing that game to be more "like real life"

I just bought a quad core in these days, and I had to realise, that instead of performance growing (ok, my fps is much better), the more core causes more serious lag.
I had a dual core cpu before, with the same effects: whenever the game spawns npc-s, or I talk with npc-s, it causes a serious lag. And all because of that goddamn 1.0004-1.0005 patch, which moves the details calculations to the second core, and it lets the game fall out of synchronisation.

For example when I talk to Wolf first time and items spawned in my inventory, the game falls completely out of sync, and stops playing events for few seconds.
I tried to start the game with -nocpubinding command, but after few minutes the game went totally weird, fell out of sync, the weather suddenly changed, and everything, all events and npc were frozen (but I could exit from the game). I think that happened because of the amd cpu cool and quiet function, which constantly switches between cores and core loads, and x-ray wanted to use a core, which was switched off by cool and quiet...

The only solution I found until now, that with Cpu Control program I give just one core to the x-ray. exe, and now I can play the game with minimal (almost none) lagging.

Is there another fix for that spawn latency?

I already searched forums, and found that thread. It advices bardaks bugfix attempt for 1.0003 patch - which I cant found, or I have to use a cracked exe, which is not an option for me, because I had issues with stalker no cd patches before.
I dont want to play with 1.0003 patch ofc, every mod comes out since years for newer patches.

There is a Bardaks bugfix for 1.0004.

Dunno if it addresses the same problem though.
