Read the "Find your log file" section. Most "crashes" are fixable, but we need the info from the end of the log file.

The list is not quite complete, as I'm not finished going through the collection of changes and notes. Feel free to mention any you know that are missing from the list.

If you don't start a new game, there may be some minor problems with your saved games. The saves are modified versions of the all.spawn file present when you started your current game. Saved games based on mods might also include custom items from those mods, and support for them will need to be properly merged to avoid crashes.

Storm Shadow State, re Sid's Monologue: Yes, your way is better for most folks. Not for me -- I don't even want to hear the opening lines ever again. If I wanted someone to hear the monologue, I'd execute a script command. But I know I'm not the norm on this. I'll look at including it.

300000, no, you don't need to enable it every time because there's no need. You only need it when you want to know where the gun is. It is usually on the stalker carrying it, not where it was last outside the backpack or equipped, but the game wrongly marks the earlier spot until you come within switch distance of the NPC who wields it.

Cheat: You can mark the gun bearer, go get the gun, and then take the quest. For normal play I'd suggest taking the quest before using the feature to know where the weapon really is.

romulous, there is a strange coincidence that every time I linked to ZSG, it then went down for a month. But now the site name itself is apparently no longer registered.

Also, be sure to enable the show_hit_damage variable in xr_motivator.script. It will show you when you are actually doing damage to the NPCs. Note that it doesn't show when you struck them but did no damage; to show that you'll have to edit the file. You can also show what bone was struck; some bones are invulnerable (e.g. fingers, toes), and a lot of bones are invulnerable with the MonoMartyrs themselves.

Well, yes, notanumber, I had a couple of reasons. There was another weapon rewarded there, but it was waaaaaay too powerful. (It's still available via the spawn tools. No, it wasn't the pellet gun.) The weapon was not in the game unless you killed Freedomers. And I'm not much for killing neutrals -- not even Vampire! -- so this gives folks like me the opportunity to get that weapon, even though it is much later in the game. But I'm open to suggestions, as I don't have an easy answer for the exploit masters who can stay friends with the ones they stab in the back or blast into the next replay, and thus get cake twice.

There's so much that will be changing soon (if I live, of course). The demo is just a demo, but folks are playing it as a real game, so the mini-mods need some updating, like the MM task assignments and the free-play quest opportunities.

A case in point: The special Dragunov task is too simple, based as it is on the existing text for it. That is going to change, and not in a good way for folks who take that task. (Hint: Ivantsov might start shooting when you take it. ) And the new location for the weapon (still in the base) will remove the exploit permitting you to get it early.

Folks, if you get the flashing triangles during the rain, one workaround is to quit and relaunch the game. Another workaround is to use the ZSU's "Execute Script Command" feature with the command level.set_weather("test", true) -- this command turns off the rain.

It might even restore daylight to nighttime, because the "test" weather uses one simple setting for the 24-hour period. The effect is temporary, lasting only until you reload a save or change levels, and you can use other settings as well, like "default" instead of "test" -- but default has rain.

I think the triangles appear when the renderer is not properly initialized. Alt-tabbing might increase the likelihood of occurrence.

Okay, I'd like some comments if you have them: There is a script function to bump npc and mutant bodies, and one to bump boxes. Should I make these debug functions? Currently you can use z.bump() and z.bumpbox() which default to bumping stuff within 10 meters, but you can use a parameter to increase the radius of bump, and another to increase the force.

They are separate functions simply because the applied bump impulse needs to be large for bodies, but small for boxes and metal cases. But I can combine them. The bump function takes an optional force parameter, but that's making it even more complicated. Maybe a multiplier?

New function: z.jump(distance,height). You can use the game option to show distance, then input that value to jump ahead that distance. Unfortunately, the game's direction function only works on a compass setting -- it doesn't include the height, so you'll have to estimate that. One workaround is to use z.jump() followed by Esc D n to move vertically.

I'm still looking at ways to put focus on the command-line field. It's tedious to select the "Execute Script Command" entry and still need to click in the field to enter a command.

I'm no killer, really! I didn't kill the Freedomers, the bloodsuckers did! Master and Smartass got pwnd by two very angry boars, Scarecrow and Gusarov lost their respective battles to Bandits, Vampire got shot by his own camper buddies... I swear I had NOTHING to do with that.

Suggestions... how about a gravity gun? Oh wait, someone already proposed that long time ago... hmmmm.... maybe an explosive barrel launcher? Or a modified sawn-off that can push over cars or send any lose object flying without damaging them...? ...or a swiss army knife? ..or a multitool? ......or a pellet gun? ...or ...

I find that vid_restart console command somtimes fixes this, if not then the quit command sure does... haha.

Sounds cool, of course anything that can be combined into a single command will be loved by all and confused by less. The bump radius and impulse could be changeable and default to the last value used.

just downloaded zrp but i don't have a modifier.exe file. i have modifierhelp and modifiernotes. deleted and reinstalled, but the file is still not present. little help please...

i'm a little longer in the tooth than most here. closing in on half a century. if i had a disc for every "future of gaming" game, oh wait i do!!! that's why i buy from steam now. plus it was 2 bucks
