Tweaks

edit: MAY HAVE OVERDONE A FEW ELEMENTS - WILL REVIEW & REVISE

I've enjoyed playing this, but on a second run through I have adjusted a few elements to my own taste. These changes do make the game a bit easier, but it also feels more realistic to me. ymmv.

Fixes and tweaks for V1:
⦁ Increased the hit power of all ammunition by 50%
⦁ Upped the hit power of the 9x39 and 7.62x51 weapons - they were abnormally low
⦁ Normalised the hit power of most rifles of the same calibre - never understood why one gun should have such less power than another
⦁ Increased the average condition of dropped weapons - they were firing at you moments ago
⦁ Traders now buy weapons in bad condition
⦁ NPCs may now be carrying ordinary artefacts - if I do, then they should as well
⦁ Corrected the icon for NATO standard round - it's now the same colour as the AP round
⦁ Option*: reduce the immunity to gunfire seen by many creatures - too many were bullet sponges; less true now with increase ammo power
⦁ Option**: cheat to get through the last section - I found the last couple of sections crazy hard to complete

Seems good. I've been wanting to play this mod so I'll wait a little more.

Just wanted to say that I think that the NPCs carrying artifacts should be an option, as I think the economy becomes too easy that way.

I agree, it does make money easier to come by, and the game is already well balanced, so playing it through first time unmodded is sensible.

It's just that with the current economy it's not easy to explore all the upgrading avenues, let alone but all the equipment you might want to try.

Also the bullet sponge critters get a bit silly imho.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get to the Dead City?

The mod seems to have the necessary folders for it, but I've yet to find a way in.

Has anyone managed this, or have I missed something horribly obvious!?

hi

it is possible to go in deadcity during a side mission for freedom, after investigating on the duty ambush.
to do so, you have to choose to help Max and not Lukash

Great, thanks for that mate!

I'm currently trying to overhaul the English text - big job on a game this big....

So, does anyone know how to complete the mission for the see-through stalker in the Red Forest? I get the fatal medication, but don't know what to do next.

afaik, there is an english translation being made at moddb but i don't know how close to completion it is. personally, i'm working on french translation, and yeah : lot's of texts x)

wait for night, take the drug while standing in forest and you will be teleported in an almost empty area (i searched long time in there... but i don't want to spoil you more)

Sorry for late reply. I had stopped working on these fixes for a while.

So far, along with clarifying the dialogue, I've:

⦁ Increased the hit power of all ammunition by around 50%

⦁ Normalised the hit power of most rifles of the same calibre - never understood why one gun should have such less power than another

I've not added any weapons, and probably won't.
