Are you sure that AN4 needs to be installed manually? I just ran the setup and everything seems to be fine at the moment...

Or rather, if i do a manual install:

Do not use AN4 all.spawn or level.ai unless you want to break your game.

I used all.spawn from AN4, and it worked great (as already stated). I had 3 successive crashes in the beginning of the campaign (in Zaton), but after that the game worked great (finding Cardan's friend quest is broken, and a there's a stuck animation when jumping into an anomaly from Burnt Farmstead - otherwise I detected no significant issues).

I would avoid the AI Mod Merge all.spawn file. It has many new invisible anomalies added, which gets annoying after a while.

As Mac said the you want to use the AN4 all.spawn, That way you get to avoid the added anomalies, The only other thing it changes is your ability to use the Underpass as a way to travel from Pripyat to Jupiter but it's not a big loss and well worth the trade off.

There isn't loads of added anomalies but they're positioned in a way to force you to change what would be your regular walk routes to and from places like the Skadovsk. They originally came from a Russian mod and I liked the fact that the positioning had been thought through so that they did not have a big impact on the AI and where they travel unlike the player. A lot of people disliked them though so again no big loss

Apologies for my late reply.

Thanks to everyone for answering my questions! In the end, i decided to NOT use the AN4 spawn file. Once i read that it removes the additional SOC-style anomalies my decision was clear. I really like my zone more dangerous!

I'll install it and have a look, Why are you trying to delete the All spawn?

If it's to use Absolute Nature 4, I'll post what to do in a minute.

So, what I did was rename the AI merge mod's gamedata folder temporarily, I called it gamedataAI, then I installed Absolute nature 4 and ended up with a gamedata folder next to the gamedataAI folder. Then I opened both the gamedata and gamedataAI folders in seperate windows and dragged the file and folders from the gamedata folder into the gamedataAI folder, It told me there was 721 of the same files and asked if I wanted to replace the originals with them which I did. I then deleted what was now an empty gamedata folder and then I renamed the gamedataAI folder back to gamedata and started a new game. It's now working, However this allspawn does not allow you to revisit the Underpass, that's no big loss though.


EDIT:

Things I almost forgot.

In the main menu you'll see a radio option button, turn it off as it is bugged, that's the only bug.

I put the weapon texture file through an optimizer, it stopped me getting out of memory errors, the files are in the EXTRA'S folder so I'd advise adding them straight away as I do they do not make any difference to it visually.

You'll also find some scopes files for the OWR mod it uses, The DX10 scopes folder is also for DX11 and the DX9 folder is also for the static lighting option, choose the one for the settings you use and add them to the gamedata.

Finally Have you tried the standalone Call of Chernobyl mod? If you haven't you should, In the main menu you can choose your faction and there is a story mode option that I always use, I tend to play as a member of the Clear sky faction although I tweak it so I'm hostile to the Mercs and neutral to Freedom, (If you try it and want to play as CS and want the same tweak let me know and I'll send you the file so you don't need to unpack it all) It's an amazing Stalker experience. http://www.moddb.com/mods/call-of-chernobyl

I don't like invisible anomalies.
I have installed Absolute Nature 4 on top of the AI, and it works. Also AN4 "all. spawn" and "level.ai" files will overwrite the ones from AI mod.
Is it ok to use them?

No i did not try CoC. And i have a question about CoC story mode; how good and long it is?
