IMO TeamEPIC have made the right decision not to release a bloated Call of Chernobyl already merged with too much graphics / sound / weapons etc., mods. Those kinds of extra bells and whistles are never to everyone's taste and it would probably be a nightmare for potential modders to have to de-merge stuff in order to replace them with their own things (CoC is both a freeplay mod and a modders resource, so I think that's important for what it is.).

I'm really psyched. Call of Chernobyl feels more like a full-on games release to me, so having a "vanilla" Call of Chernobyl base makes it more attractive, to me at least. Also just got a brand new PC as a gift, so I'm all set to have my spare time robbed from me once this is released. Thanks to TeamEpic for all the hard work you guys have obviously put in to this.

OWR 3 addon will be released with CoC. And you can add AN2 and AN3 lite versions on top of CoC with no problems.

Good to know, thanks! Which Absolute texture packs do I need to get upgraded textures for all maps? Both CS and CoP, or also ShoC? Sorry if it's a stupid question, I'm not a modder...

PS: I wasn't criticising Team EPIC for not including added visuals and sound fx. CoC is a fantastic gift to the players and modding community, I just want to experience it in its maximum possible glory.

I want to remind everyone we are still in development of the mod. There has been no official release and it is still planned. I've been reading a lot of misinformation about the mod, like it being canceled, on other forums like ap-pro or stalker.pl. Official news about the mod can only be found in this thread, forum.epicstalker.com or http://www.moddb.com/mods/call-of-chernobyl

Credible information will only come from Bangalore, Borovos, 2C.LiryC or I.

The release is planned to include Borovos's Truck Cemetery map and SDK rawdata used to develop the mod (separately).

I'll consider making a texture pack using Cromm's AN textures as an addon, but later. I realize it might be confusing for some people and they will accidently copy over non-textures and ruin the mod.

Call of Chernobyl mod (Official Thread)

Alundaio~

I read something about a CoC leak on Reddit. No one likes a leak.
I'm sorry to hear this, if this news is accurate. I for one will not be
promoting an unfinished product. Let me know if there is any type
of announcement or message you would like on Official S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Thank you. We did not want to openly discuss the leak since the details will only cause drama and is not really important to the fanbase. We are continuing to develop the mod as if it didn't happen. We still have unreleased SDK assets and an unreleased custom level that was not leaked and will be available when the mod is officially released.

The mod is just a hobby for the team driven by our passion for the series. It's a disappointment this occurred but we still haven't finished what we set out to achieve; to deliver a stable mod platform built on 1.6 engine with all the maps, enhanced AI features and other moddable features and tools to aid in mod development. That's where it ends. If nobody likes the mod or cares to build on it, it's not an issue for us. I had a fantastic time working on this mod and made many great friends within the modding community. It was a real pleasure working with Bangalore, Borovos, 2C.LiryC, Darkenneko and helping my buddy Swartz with his project Radium. Met a lot of cool people who helped us test the mod and they really put a lot of work into it. I'm also glad that people like r_populik, Olivius and DavidME have supported us from day one.

Sorry to hear about the leak. I'll never understand what possesses people to do things like that.

Anyways, I read over at ModDB that the Arsenal Overhaul 3 mod is going to be merged by the creator with Call of Chernobyl. So that's pretty cool. 100 new weapons will surely satisfy players who've been asking about weapons in Call of Chernobyl.

One really cool idea I keep thinking of is having the entire Stalker series play out on a single game. Not sure of how realistic that is, but Call of Chernobyl is definitely a giant leap in the right direction.

Looking forward to this release!

As far as STALKER mods go, I have only played Lost Alpha.

I saw a post mentioning this project on another thread here and decided to check it out.

After creating an account on Epic Stalker and watching several game play videos, I am awaiting this release with great enthusiasm.

Hey Alundaio, long time no see. I have been out of the modding scene for some time and I'm glad to see you stuck with it and have been working on CoC.

I just had one simple question/suggestion.

Have any doors opened up with the release of OpenXray that allow the use of FOV changes via user input? I know one thing that really took the wind out of my sails on finishing RCOM was that there was no way to focus down the sights of a gun to see further like in other "realism" based games that have long range gun fights. For example, holding right mouse button down in Arma games, or holding shift in Red Orchestra 2.

With OpenXRAY, you can now change your fov and hud_fov directly from the ingame console. No need for debug mode.

Don't know if this answers your question.
