1,2,3...

I have the feeling there is going to be more than one dealer though.
Even though only one is mentioned on STALKER site.

Hmmm... Wouldn't it be logical if "Stalkers" (read mercernaries, hired guns, whatever) would travel from all over the world to prey in The Zone ?

These international stalkers are likely to have a background in the millitary... Let's say that we have an (ex) swedish special ops soldier, which travels to the zone, would they then start out by buying new/old/outdated weapons from the dealer ?, or would they have brought their own weapons, let's say a AK5V and some smaller firearms from where they came from?

If one of these stalker then got killed in the zone, voil

I don't know of anyone who would use an Enfield L85 by choice. Even the ones refurbished by HK are more likely to break down that to work properly.

Lol. In the original version the action worked so that the cocking arm lever would bounce spend shell casings BACK into the ejector door and jam the whole thing. Hahaha. If I found an L85 on the ground, next to a dead stalker, I would bury IT before I buried HIM. Lucky rabbits' feet do rabbits no good, if you know what I'm saying.

I have no doubt that there would be stalkers from all over the world there. If there is something to be gained from being in the zone, the international scientific and, by proxy, commercial communities would be interested. The only way noone could be involved is if it was classified military top secret or something and then noone, not even stalkers, would be allowed in. Stalkers would be shot on sight and exploration would be conducted by government authorities only. I'm sort of assuming that either the zone isn't heavily patrolled (which seems unlikely if there are things in there that would change science as it is known today), or the controls are slack. Like, there's a boarder guard, but once you're in you're in and resistence by authorities are minimal, and you can either avoid checkpoints or have some kind of permit or identification (showing a contractual agreement to some kind of organization that has authorization to be there).... kind of like the US/Mexico boarder. Haha.

The zone is a milatary controlled area... NO ONE is ment to be allowed in and out aside from milatary stalkers and the scientist personal working for the milatary. It was exactly the same in the book too. Stalkering the zone is ILLIGAL, its a jailable term and more then one person has found themselves in a cell when caught or dead when firing back.

Without the permits and the likes you won't get past border patrolls unless you sneak yourself in and out. Getting caught then comes down to if you can bribe your way out of it or flee quickly enough not to be shot/captured.

Some things I would like to share...

Silencer-
Make silencers correct- they will be only effective with subsonic ammo.

Scopes:
I like a lot bouncing scopes, exactly like DoD- it adds realism and tension, since the sniper will be more concerned in shooting correctly.

What weapons will be in the hands of who?

Weapon maintenence- will weapons jam and stuff?

i think that the Stechkin pistol from the movie Face/off would be nice to see in the game.

as for cliched weapons.. the doublebarreled shotgun is probably no.1 on that list.. weapons known for their reliability should have found their way into the gaming area to some extent.. it shouldnt matter if it is Swedish or Japanese.. but they shouldn't be as common as the AK47 for example. but just because I'm Swedish doesn't mean that I necessarily will choose a Bofors gun..

Stalkers should choose a weapon they feel comfortable with..

And as for English weapons.. just look at English cars..
I wouldn't mind a German MP40

foo foo foo foo foo... unscrew... bang bang!

Silencers are useful without subsonic ammo. Even with subsonic ammo, silencers make gun report more quiet, but not totally quiet. With a silencer, a pistol's muzzle report would be close to the db level of a car door slamming. Even incredible silencers are only meant to make the report unrecognizible as a gunshot at distances greater than 50 yards.

Subsonic ammunition just eliminates the bullet hiss/crack heard by people near the bullet's tragectory and lessens the muzzle blast as the charges used to fire the round are lesser (probably slower burning).

So the silencers would be useful, especially at long distances- and no silencers are truly silent. You just have a gradient of noisiness to choose from when selecting your supressed weapon.

Seen a few good vidios showing what happens when you fire both types of rounds through a supressor. Same gun, same supressor, one half of the clip was sub and the other half super. The Tic sound of a suppressor, which is how it SHOULD sound, then the crack of the super rounds breaking through the sound barrior.

So even if you DO fire super rounds through a suppressor it DOES work... the only sound is the breaking of the sound barror which is NOT that loud, its definly less then the sound of a bullet going off.

I think all guns should ALWAYS have weapon sway, this is becouse... well when you breath your gun sways with each breath. Your trained in the milatary to limit sway completely through breathing exercises and stances. Hence the sway should be present, with the crosshair moving alittle becouse we don't have ironsites.

This is just an aspect of REALISTIC BALISTICS.... Even if its not so present on the unzoomed it should still be present for sure in zoomed weapons. It adds a little more skill to using the weapon. Like all aspects though it should be realistic done, meaning less sway then DOD when standing becouse you don't sway that much.

Jinxy, its just a game, you're not going to be able to life out your fantasys of being a STALKER in every detail. You're expecting about 500% more out of the game than is going to be delivered, you're setting yourself up for dissapointment.
