Now I'm really aggravated :: Food bug

Now here's something interesting. Is the Marked One the embodiment of gluttony, or have I come upon a nasty food bug!?

Everything was fine (apart from the missing sky bug, of which I wrote in the "Can't see the sky!?" thread) until this morning.

During the past hours I played, I had only used food when the 'hungry' icon appeared on the screen and turned yellow.
Last night (and this morning), I went to Yantar, talked to the chief scientist, went underground, did what I had to do there, and then left the underground. That's when the problem appeared.
The 'hungry' icon appeared, and turned red quickly, so I ate two sausages, which is all the food I had. A few seconds later, he was hungry again. I managed to get back to the scientist, and buy all the food he had for sale: 7 cans, 5 sausages, and 5 loaves of bread if I remember correctly. I ate all of it, but guess what, around 5 seconds later, the 'hungry' icon appeared again, in green, turned to red in another 5 - 10 seconds, and the Marked One starved to death, literally... This has rendered the game impossible to play.

Reloading from past saves (when I first entered Yantar) didn't help, now the problem appears earlier, in Yantar underground.

Anybody else encounter this bug?

Yep, this is the problem I have run into that has me pissed about trying to play. I can take having a sky that looks like its on LSD, but having to eat almost consistently and at the most inopportune times sucks majorly. This is one option I would like the ability to turn off.

Thank you very much Jonolo, I'll try it tonight when I get home from work. It might actually work as I play on the keypad, and use the "*" for night-vision, which I naturally didn't need before entering the Yantar underground.
At the catacombs beneath Agroprom I used the flashlight, bound to "NumLck" on the keypad. Speaking of which, now that I have the stalker suit (I threw away the first suit I found, can't remember its name) and the scientist suit, I no longer have the flashlight. Is this normal?

And oSok, what about you, did you bind any keys to the asterisk?
