Save yourself, Release the SDK!!!!

Maybe my SDK rants are excessive but seriously I think you developers will take a big burden off your back by releasing it as soon as possible. If nothing else give us an update on it, whether its still in the works, almost finished or if its just not going to happen at all we deserve some information. If you are a modder desperately seeking the SDK please drop a line let them know we care.

for sure, and if an sdk gets released soon - then all the small issues that are commonly voiced, yet probably easy to fix (such as amount of damage needed to kill enemies) will be quickly fixed and the word spread around the community - which will add longevity and potentially more buyers to the game.

if you DON'T - then there is the risk of people playing the game for a bit, getting sick of its flaws and rather than getting mods to pep their game up again, they'll go onto something new.

feck yeh!

I felt SO proud once i had put a scope on my specialized-increased ROF AK74, as i am a good shot with it, and i had saved up 700 (!) rounds for it, and i thought that good-times had reached me and that'd i'd be able to finally start stalking well and truly, hehe.

but 700 rounds quickly went down to 200 from 1 major mission. a whole clip to kill a guy, regardless of his armor! man! and that's while scoping it in single-shot mode, where 90 of hits where in his shoulders/neck/head/upper chest. damn. i can understand he is armored, but this is silly.

we ARE supposed to be saving ammo! it's an awesome gameplay idea. but it's just not possible. I'd enjoy the 'scrounging for ammo' gameplay aspect if it was balanced, as in, less ammo, but only a few shots needed to take someone out.

As it stands, it's 'scrounge up a few hundred shots which should be heaps, in order to do one mission'

Ah well! mod or patch, hopefully it'll be patched! maybe someone could just make a trainer that 2x/3x's the players damage?

ps. boiling point is an excellent example of this. fun game that could be 'amazing, absolutely amazing' if modders went to work on it. but they barely could, so it died.

oblivion is another example, as, yes, it was SAVED by it's mod-ability. who would still be playing oblivion more than a few weeks/a month after its release if it wasn't so moddable? it would be an entirely different situation.

i think stalker is initially a lot more polished/fun/complete than BP upon release, but the flaws are still fairly annoying, and the game would be 'AMAZING' simply if the combat damage issue was fixed, and a sdk or something to let us tweak those dba files would solve that, and potentially save the game from becoming another passing novelty.

The games great, I've seen alot of people with problems but it runs pretty good on my system, except for one problem I just had where the rain turned the sky into a green glitch, but after a exiting and restarting it worked fine. Oblivion crashed on me almost every time I played it.

Also I wanted to mention another game like this, Counter Strike, only because of its mods. If you check out FpsBanana.com you can see over 10,000 different skins and models for all sorts of things within the game, whether its higher resolution packs for the people with super video cards or low res packs for people with low end cards, the possibilities are endless and the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. brand will leave its mark.
