Zombie mod anyone?

I don't know about you guys, but I was thinking a zombie mod would be amazing for this game, especially with the wide open areas and a-life engine and AI etc.

Preferably I would love to see it in a setting similar to if you've seen the movie 28 days later. In the large city of London - desolate with some traces of people trying to stay alive that you could visit along your journey and even fight off zombies with them. I also loved the zombies in this movie, they portrayed what I thought to be "realistic zombies" as if zombies were real, that is how they might act. But then again, I guess it all depends on what brought them about.

Walker-original zombies, and runner zombies would both be cool to add. Although STALKER has zombies with guns, I think it'd give a better zombie feeling if they didn't carry guns, and overpowered you with numbers. Honestly, if I had to pick an engine for a singleplayer zombie mod, STALKER's would be it. Great atmosphere, great AI, and dynamic gameplay.

Zombies are a terrific mod idea.

Take out most of the other creatures, throw in more Stalkers (call them Survivors too), and make ammo more scarce. Make lots of zombie spawns.

Many people may not know, but they've got an Operation Flashpoint Zombie mod. Let me tell you: It kicks so much butt.

There's nothing quite as fun as running through a city with a group of other survivors, blasting the undead as you flee for your life and the nearest ammo.

I made a map in Op Flash that was basically the ideal zombie outbreak. There were people scattered about, zombies all over, guns, stuff on fire. The only problem was that it lagged horribly. But it looks like I could get the gameplay I want from a zombie mod for Stalker.

If you're skeptical, go look at those videos. (Also, keep in mind that the levels in op flash are huge islands, and it would have pretty similar gameplay. Just no vehicles for us in Stalker... for now.)

And, before I leave, this mod would be great if it had a story to it. If anybody starts working on a zombie mod, contact me. I'd love to help, even if "help" means we're just kicking around some ideas.

I wouldn't mind keeping it in Chernobyl, but if mapping is do-able, I wouldn't mind seeing a new area either. If mapping for Stalker is anything like mapping for the Half-Life games, I could probably throw some maps together at some point.

The reason behind keeping it in Chernobyl:

1) So the player is familiar with the levels ahead of time.

2) We wouldn't have to do any mapping.

3) We would only alter the original Stalker story a little bit.

That way it'd be more of a mini-mod, rather than a total conversion kind of thing.

But, like I said, the mod could go either way.
