This game needs some serious optimization...

I have:

crossfire x1950xtx
core 2 duo 6700
2gb 1033mhz corsair ram
GBDQ6 V2

I get 25fps in the first level with full dynamic lighting on and on the 2nd level i get 7fps : Like wtf is going on? Sometimes i save and i have to restart because my fps just suddenly drops to below 5.

The game is somehow using all my 2gb ram memory and my windows XP only uses 135mb ram to run!

I can run RB6Vegas on max with no programs i can run oblivion maxed out with no problems and i get like 250fps on HL2.

This game doesn't even have that greater graphics so why did you release in this condition?

---END QUOTATION---

I notice there was a call that this guy had an illegal copy...
EB Games Australia has had it out for 2 days to the "resident" who called boo hoo (thread was started on the 20th, so quite feasible that it's a legit copy)

I'm having the same problem but with:
2 x 1950 Pro 512s
AMD 64X2 5200
2Gb Corsair C4
M2R32-MVP

Whether the game has a memory leak or not I'm not sure, but some areas are worse than others. Restarting the client after an hour or so seems to help a little, but not much.
Having 2 gig of ram and seeing the monitor on my G15 shoot up to 75% is kinda scary though.
Watching the CPU monitor below it and only seeing one core working its arse off kinda puzzles me too.

Personally I think the graphics are pretty good, but overall the game feels a little clunky.
Most of it to do with movement, from standing to crouching and back, leaning, and bringing up iron sights (haven't scored anything with a scope yet ) all seem to lag a little. And the lag when you hit primary and the time it takes to pull the trigger and actually let off a round... Bit of a worry when ur target has moved a foot or so between the time you hit fire and you actually fire.
My post mortem of that would be something to do with the loading of the gun cycling animation.

Whether or not this is to do with the game itself, my hardware (which I doubt), or somewhere between the game and the graphics drivers I'm not sure. As the X1950 Pro's don't seem to like the general Catalyst drivers it's a bit hard to say (they prefer their own priveliged driver set) and the latest 7.2's are poop anyway.

Seeing that this is happening on an XTX setup with an Intel processor as opposed to my AMD I'm leaning more towards the game end of things.

Maybe seeing as this game's taken 5 years to develop we need CPU and GPU throttling to play it properly

Yes this game needs a patch, but more importantly the SDK needs to be released. I believe modders will be able to fix this game better then the developers themselves, theres plenty of people that would love nothing better to get there hands on the files hiding behind .dba

On to the Optimization, my game runs terrible, I play Oblivion on High while this game plays on Low which is more then a spit in the face when your still having FPS problems. The graphic options are pretty good but for sum reason i cant touch the shadows/lighting without enabling Dynamic lighting, then when i turn it off shadows shoot all the way up and lighting wont move either. If a patch is not in the works already I will be more then dissapointed.

Interesting

That is interesting

I have a P4 3.0 E
Nivida 6600 gt (128)
2 gig of misc ram

The game runs fine on high graphics, no noticable lag. Try turning your lighting to standard (? not sure of the right term) but basicly no dynamic lighting. I would be interested if that makes a difference. Seems to be a recurring issue with a lot of games.

I would be interested in your results.

Yea I have lower specs to and the game runs great with almost everything high.

AMD Sempron 3000
2 gigs ram
7600 GT

When I first installed the game and left the bunker it would freeze and drop down to 2-5 fps. I restarted the game like 3 times trying to fix it and mess with settings. All of a sudden it started playing perfectly smooth on like the 4th restart. I now have dynamic lighting turned on and almost everything except textures to high and the game runs great even with tons of fighting going on. Never freezes or stutters at all.

but then the game looks like absolute crap..since the devs didnt put much effort into directx 8 they focused on sm3 which im sure a lot of cards are not capable of

Yeah,it does for me.
I got a AMD 64 Dual Core 3800
1GB Ram
256 nVidia 7300 LE

And when I start the game I get either a blurry sky(everything seems to get stuck on the sky and after just a secong the sky looks really wierd) or I get a yellow sky.
I have tried static, dynamic and the last lightning. on static it runs smoothly on the highest(but the sky...THE SKY) and on dynaic it runs kind of smoothly, and on the last my computer seems to be choking on something...
Please, tell me that they will fix the problem with the sky?

Has anyone experienced massive framerate slowdowns when, in some areas, you look in a certain direction? For example, in the "Wild Territory" after you hear that guy talk about the incoming chopper, the area just after that hitches like crazy with a framerate of 1-5 when I look towards it.

Even if I look down and face that area, my framerate still dies, yet when I look away the framerate goes back up.

Optimization dosn't mean the game must run with high FPS on good hardware
Through optimization you must understand a game that rund on a wide array of hardware.

Example:

You can run stalker smoothly on athing betwen FX5700 / 9600 XT and 8800 GTX.
But with rainbow six vegas, or splinter cell DA you cant even dream of runing them on a 9600 XT.

Shure, you cannot run stalker with max setings on 9600XT, but with minimum you get the desired 30 fps.
Vegas with minimum details dosn't run with 30 FPS not even on a 7600GT.
And a 7600 GT is light years ahead of a 9600XT.

As I've said... no problems here. You guys do keep upto date with drivers? (not just GFX Card drivers, I mean system drivers etc.....)? Defrags?

Often after installing a new game it's beneficial to reboot.......
