Just a request, make the map Moscow-like just for realism's sake, because we've seen so many mods and movies with zobie outbreaks in British or American cities. Make it have an Eastern European themed mod. I can send some pictures of Eastern European style architecture if you want.

I think it will be a pretty nice experience to barricade yourself in your apartment, run through the zombie-infested lobby and close confines of the stairwell, and get to your room and lock yourself in there, trying to conserve food and shooting zombies from your balcony with a hunting rifle.

Ahh man you guys are getting the complete wrong idea. Im just making a small pure mod that will barely change the game. I dont want to change the game much so it wont have an effect than gsc otherwise planned. All I'm doing right now is modeling a tower with an underground lab part. My idea was that scientists built towers all over the zone to observe zone activity and do studies. So the start would be you find one of these towers with the door blasted off and ransacked. You can then go inside, use the storage locker, climb up to the top, observe/snipe, use it as a home, etc. If I had enough time to add more to that I'd put more towers in various locations in the zone, some controlled by different factions. I'm not even able to do much right now besides basic modeling since I don't have the sdk and dont know what will work and what wont.

I hope the in-game models stay how they are now. Because making your own zombie mod in seconds by mass spawning them with a console command is easy, but since the models are "Low-poly" you can have triple that when compared to other games with high-res models.

On my second play through, I plan on spawning 30-40 zombies at each Human base, and then just surviving on my own by scavenging.

Thats pretty damn cool. Hopefuly that's still in.

Im sure it is, once something like that is in I don't see a reason to take it out. Also don't worry too much about not having a house. For one of my first mods I'll make a small house you can use, it should be pretty easy to do.

Hi Mord im new to the forum or forums come to think of it this is my first post. But a game as good as STALKER i thought it worth my while to join in. I hear your thinking of making a home base for the character this is a brilliant idea are the developers planning on making a patch perhaps incorperating peoples ideas into the game after the release?. I was really fond of the idea of having to hide up at nightime to avoid the worst of the creatures obviously by choice u can go out and brave the darkness for the reward of better finds!. I thought perhaps a kind of bunker as a safe haven would of been nice. Perhaps a building which is only accesable to your character would be almost as good as the previous idea of barricading yourself in for the night time duration. But if the game time isnt affected or controlled by the player then i think it would lose some of its appeal waiting in a homebase for 9hrs for the sun to rise. I think theres a lot of people interested in the home base idea from what iv read in forums etc and it would make a lot of people happy if perhaps someone like your good self made a couple of small bases with pics etc so people can choose a home base to there liking. I realise that the weapons stay in game until found by another NPC which means stashing will already be part of the game. This already sounds like quiet a lot of work to me and i wouldnt want you to think i was taking the mick. I only play games therefore i have no skills in the mod programmes. I do however have a lot of ideas and welcome a chat about them ).

I should of told you where my thread for the chat and ideas was its in the Gameplay and Balance section. This is first time iv done posts on forum lol . Iv started off with a small selection of ideas and concepts to get the ball rolling. I can see where your coming from with the zombie hordes and being holed up in a stronghold or tower of some kind. It gives you a strong feeling of survival limited supplies enemy trying to get in and take over the place youv decided to use as a standoff location!. It creates a kind of suspense iv always thought even in storeys and games or television programmes they work really well when a homebase is involved. Theres something to fight for and thats very compeling in films or games.

I had several ideas but came down to the observation tower. I'm still unsure to the capabilities of the AI so its unknown how it would work so far. The tower would have a ladder (not sure if the AI can climb those), also a underground bunker area (not sure if AI can open hatches). Also Its all up to how I finally design them individually, for instance - the first tower has its main door blown off.

Not sure if you can controll time, sleep has been taken out as far as we know. I have been looking through the files and it looks as though they left all the sleep stuff there for modders to mod in easily. Also the way I had my mod idea designed there would be towers in different areas but they would be more or less the same, just with small details changed. They could be different a bit more than I had planned, it depends on how I work the story for it.

Hah, I have a lot of ideas too, I just have too little time to even make mine into mods. Suggestions are always welcome, though I'm not so sure how much time overall I'll have to make mods. Im not even sure I'll finish this one. I got sidetracked already and started modeling a mp7, hopefully I can finish that and get it into the game. I still have to learn animation
