---QUOTATION---

so there IS a need for new-type based MMOs
like no xp or something
no skill points (i should i specc my stalker on survival, aiming or beast mastery? xD or better on assassination, combat and subtiety...)
imagine a world (a huge one) with stalker gameplay - it has not to be the zone...just maybe a battlefield or a fictive country
---END QUOTATION---

Stalker is set in the zone, not the battlefield or fictive country you want it to be. A small group of players would fit Stalker gameplay a lot more than a guy and his 40 clan mates ganking noobs. I think what you want would be an entirely different game from Stalker.

yep thats right
a future generation of online gaming and realism (with the stalker enginge) would be cool
but im a solo-gaming type (ganking with 40 ppl wtf it's so lame - i can gank 8 ppl alone) and im a fan of story based games. stalker won't fit into a mmo world anyway - you would see another stalkers every 5 minutes or so, sniping from hills and running from others

A large MMO would turn me off it. But a multiplayer world for 16 players with rankings would be good for a dedicated server. Co-Op of upto 4 players would be excellent.

I hope someone can make this happen. Single player co-op with a cap of 16-32 players that can exist on a server at one time. A faction could have a limit of 4 players. Different servers could have different key missions for rewards ( ammo, food ,stuff ) and may be limited to certain sections of the zone. You can go alone or join a faction, and also change factions if thats what you want, or your current faction gets owned. Perhaps it could work that an event ( like a creature attack or a faction clash ) that if you are killed you will not respawn until that event is over ( all creatures killed or one faction wins ). It may also work so that you could surrender during a faction clash so the winning faction can vote to let you join them, take your stuff and let you go, or execute you and eat your tins of spam.
Spawning could occur at designated faction points so this is how you could intially create a faction ( name and symbol perhaps ) , or chose to spawn from several designated 'loner' spawnpoints where you would find your own way. In this way you could line up with your real co-op players where you start the game. To join a faction you would need to request permission and then the current faction members vote, or you could start at a loner point and start with your own group playing as Stalkers not belonging to any faction. The game could save player ( so you can keep your stuff ) and group stats to create ongoing rankings so someone would be top Stalker, and one group would own the zone.
Just some ideas...

Generally, it has already been done : Planetside. The game was wonderful, but did not last too long. It isn't worth the time the team would have to put into it, for a lot of MMO's just die when they are first released. I agree with others, if they are going to work on a relatively "larger" feature, it needs to be Coop. Also, please go to my thread with my suggestions and post your thoughts.
