Yet another call for coop/scare factor.

Well just joined the forums and figured id go ahead an post. I've been following stalker for awhile, looking at screens, watching some trailers and so on. It wasn't for awhile till I was told about multiplayer being inculded. Im no fan of CS, but i was a big fan of Soldier of Fortune 2, which is a game with same style of multi as cs, only a lot less realistic. One thing that i love in games like these is coop. I don't mean inflitration coop, i mean players verus monsters/npcs. I would love for really any type of coop but pvm is always more enjoyable for me.

Again recently i learned that there are two versions of this game, oblivion lost and shadow. Oblivion lost was replaced by shadow as far as i know but, as it was replaced, the game seemed to have lost a lot of its scare factor. The scare factor in this game is what attracted me to it and I was sadden to see that bunch taken out of it. I could be completely wrong on the scare factor, but it seems that oblivion lost had a lot more of it. By all means, i hope im wrong.

Well thats all from me, anyway just on a last note: I know my spelling/grammer sucks so just excuse me on whatever mistakes I've made.

There are no two versions of the game. The name of the game has been changed from "STALKER: Oblivion Lost" to "STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl" when THQ became the publisher.

There was also a game called "Oblivion Lost". It was developed on the early X-ray engine, but closed in favour of STALKER.

I also worry about this game's sudden transition to what looks like Battlefield 2 with monsters. Hopefully that's just to show the AI, Monsters, and Physics. What worries me most about this game is the recommended system requirements shown at the bottom of the FAQ. I really hope that's for the DX9 render. But even so, if the specs for the DX9 rendering mode are THAT high, then I'm still worried about 8's. My system isn't very strong at all, maybe medium-low at best. I do agree with Xadow about the coop Man Vs. Beast thing. I've always loved that mode of multiplayer. I'm glad I've gotten this all off of my chest, and I hope this game will be join my little list of greatest and most addicting games ever made.

The game videos mostly show off the battles so it doesnt really show the exploring part, bad move from them imo.
The site did say the game would run just fine at low-end systems and besides, those specs are recommended for playing the game maxed out with good fps-rate as far as i know.
