realistic ballistics simulation ?

I wonder just how advanced the ballistics engine really is...
Does it al least take into consideration the type of bullet that is fired and
the density and thickness of the material that's being penetrated ?
Cause both SWAT4 and BF2 were supposed to have this feature, but it turned out to be just a rumour... coming from the producers lol

Stalker uses 100% realistic bullet ballistics. Meaning everything from flight trajectory, piercability, richochet, ect...
All can be adjusted in the Shader editor.

LOL 100% realistic ballistic simulation LOLOL.

It's a complicated program, and it lists the features that S-X says... but things like windage are notably absent. Moreover, I'm sure it handles a lot of what he says in a rudimentary, FPS sort of way. S-X loves overstatement.

100%???? Are you kidding? We won't reach that in games until the year 2030.

They do their math i'll tell ya, and things for X-Ray such as bullet ballistics can be scripted quite accurately.

Sorry buddy, in order to make a 100% realistic simulation, you'd have to simulate more than kinematics.

Are you trying to prove a point here about me? Whatever you have against me man i've been over it for ages now. But it seems everything i make a post about, you come off with a smartass response directed in my area of replies.

Please knock it off, because it's getting on my nerves.

Refer to my original post. I was saying that "100% realistic ballistics" was an overstatement...

And you seemed to disagree...

And I disagree further, so I'm giving you reasons why I disagree... ergo, my participation in the discussion.

Hmmm, what i really wanted to know is how bullet penetration is handled by the engine. Does it take into account parameters such as density and thickness of the material, or it's just something rudimentary like CS for example ?
