I was impressed by the reworked models and graphics in DC, and also the 'extension' of the trophy section to include previously untrophied species.
The weight variations are also a nice added dimension.
However, the spawning probabilities of the trophies seems messed up.
Fleshies seem to be a pretty good bet for an eyeball - probability = 0.5
Boar are also good for a hoof - probability = 0.5
Blind dogs too - probability = 0.5
Cats seem good too - probability = unknown (previous versions unspecified)
Psy and Pseudodogs seem to be reluctant to yield - probability = 0.2 in prev vers, now I am much less confident of gaining a tail at the Bar. In fact I only got one - for the first time - on my third game.
Karlik's ear. Good old Siddie will pony up a mission to bring one of these mythical parts. I pretty much refused instanta.
Is this some geeky developer joke? If so, I can assure you that the humour SUCKS.
(Just to clarify how 'broken' this is, consider that I played TWO DOZEN 1.3003 games (with additional side-forks), and gained a Karlik's ear precisely ONCE.)
In my first three DC games these seemed muuuuch too easy to pop.
Then again, Snork legs just DON'T seem to spawn. Hell, I stiffed 20+ somewhere damnable - and not. one. boot. WTF?
Random means RANDOM.
If all the snork boots are up on Generators (say) to balance the lack thereof in the preceding game - then I call bug on the randomizing algorithm.
Vanilla LADC v1.4002 with no cosmetic or cheat fixes.
No 'easy-play', just bring it on and see if it can be strategized or subverted by the rules existing in the game.
