Low framerate on Darkscape?

I don't have a gaming pc, but Lost Alpha is surprisingly running at 230fps on average. Yet, from the moment I lost control of my character for that fade to black in the mine tunnel that leads you to the Sin guys, the framerate dropped to 11fps and is still there no matter what I do or where I go. I've tried reloading an older save and framerate was up again but also dropped again the moment I reached that "cutscene". And I've already tried lowering the graphic details/screen resolution to no avail.

Also, upon exiting the mine (helplessly hoping that the framerate would go back up), I got attacked by an army of something like 40 or 50 dogs and pseudodogs 50mt from the cave entrance and further ahead a controller decided to spawn in aswell, wtf. How are you supposed to survive that many mobs at once?

EDIT:

You can sort of ignore that, but I'm still not sure if it's a bug and what's causing it. I tried upgrading to 1.4002 and didn't work, but the framerate went back to 230fps the moment I entered another level (Dark Valley in my case). So it sort of fixed itself, but running away from that absurdily huge amount of dogs and navigating through the entire level while the game is stuttering at 11fps is not fun.

I get a similar sort of behaviour on Back Countryside because of its size and I'm expecting trouble at the NPP later.

Try running at a lower resolution. I had to use Static lighting at minimum detail to complete BC.
Perversely, I had to run Full Dynamic DX9 in the BC Underground - and switch back to static back upstairs.
And I had EXACTLY the same bug in LA 1.3003 so go figure.

About the doggies.
RUN.

No, as I've said the problem solved itself the moment I switched level. My first visit to Darkscape was fine and smooth (during the chopper chase), framerate went to hell the moment the cutscene/fade to black played and was stuck there until I left Darkscape to go back to Dark Valley for X-18 quest(s). Re-entering Darkscape to turn in the X-18 quest for the Sin was smooth framerate wise as any other area I've visited so far.

So I guess it has something to do with the fade to black cutscene, perhaps something wrong happened and/or the engine can't handle the transition from gameplay to cutscene and back properly in that particular instance. Or, at least, it can't handle it on 1.4000.

Protip though, don't try to run over dogs with a car. I stole one from some Army (?) outpost just south of the exit of the mine at the bottom of the map and managed to roll it into a ditch after 100mt. Walked a bit, found another car, stole that one aswell, some dogs were standing in the middle of the road, tried to run them over and got sent flying into space.
