Porting weapons possible?

Hello,

I haven't posted anything here in years, but I've been quietly modding STALKER this whole time. The Lost Alpha Developer's Cut just came out, which opens up a whole new Zone of possibilities.

However, based on some carefully-controlled tests (still just getting started), it seems that any attempt to add a new weapon from a CoP-based mod causes the game to crash. If the LADC can't support CoP weapon models (even though it uses the CoP weapon system), it will make it difficult or impossible to port weapons from any other source. Has anyone else encountered this problem yet?

I've been trying with Arsenal Overhaul 3.1 weapons intended for Call of Chernobyl, but matching the LADC config setup exactly.

The crashes are always similar to the one below, and happen well before the new weapon can be equipped:

Hi - I'm still trying to add the FNC to LADC - no joy yet - trader issues not crashes (yet!).

Did you manage to add weapons to LA 1.3 previously?

I'm hoping I'm not going to hit the same issues....

Because LA 1.3 just used the standard SoC weapon model system, I was able to easily add my entire SoC mod arsenal of over 130 weapons. But the LADC now uses the CS/CoP system that makes your hands change based on the armor you're wearing, has artifact detectors, etc.

I have a CoP-style weapon collection of around the same size, but trying to add anything from that leads to a guaranteed crash. So I can't add weapons made for SoC anymore, and apparently can't add weapons made for CS/CoP either.

I hope you have better luck than I've had so far.

I'm not sure if this helps, but I heard KingFriday incorporated SRAP anims into the Director's Cut

Thanks for the tip about SRAP. Unfortunately, even trying to import weapon models directly from SRAP for CoP into the LADC causes the same crash.

I doubt this will stop weapon pack authors from finding a way to add new weapons to the LADC, but even with my ten years of STALKER modding experience, that's outside of my current abilities. I have an insane amount of experience transferring weapons from one SoC mod to another, or one CS/CoP mod to another, but the LADC seems to use a whole new third kind of weapon model.

So I guess we'll just have to wait for LADC-specific weapon packs to start coming out...

EDIT: Never mind, I actually just got one from SRAP working fine. There may be hope after all. Time to try again with something not from SRAP...

Very interestingly, I can get weapons from SRAP for CS/CoP to work, but I can't get weapons from any other sources to work even after adding them exactly the same way. I've never seen any difference in adding weapons from different sources but for the same STALKER game before. Hope this clue helps anyone reading this.

Sure it's possible meh
I used skeletons and anims from The_Armed_Zone_1.7.4. Also tinkering with OMF files.

Weapon is ported with LA SDK.

Nice work. Things are looking up. So you used the currently available LA SDK for LA 1.3 to get a CoP weapon into the LADC? My SDK experience is mostly limited to the level editor (added the Dead City and the Generators to my SoC mod a long time ago), and I've got like 140 weapons that need to be imported, but... If it's possible that way, I'll gladly do the work.

Good to see you had some luck at least te47, keep trying, would like to see your name on a weapon overhaul mod for LA
