Been a while since I have been on the forums

I read it, and enjoyed it non the less. Though I will say there were parts in the version that you were posting online here that I enjoyed more so than the most current rendition. All in all great story and look forward to more.

Just finished reading.
Excellent story, I like the flow of the story better, and it makes sense towards the end of the story that the beginning is changed compared to the online version.
A shame that the publishing deal went down the drain, the story definitely deserved to be published.

I think I found one error though, on page 106 Petrenko has a Saiga-12.
After shooting the Zombie:

‘The zombies followed them in,’ Petrenko said, chambering the next cartridge and
pulling replacement shells from a pocket on his suit. ‘

The Saiga-12 is a box magazine semi-auto, did you mean the SPAS-12?
In the original version he was carrying a SPAS-12
But this is just me nitpicking

So when is the second part do I would very much like to see what happens next.

Zug: Glad you enjoyed it. I knew there'd be parts that some people liked better in the original while others preferred the new version. Couldn't be helped, I'm afraid.
(And did you notice that I worked a mention in there? I had intended that to be a larger escape scene, but it didn't work. In fact, a lot of ideas around that section bit the dust for one reason or another. There was even an entire chapter featuring Shulga that got snipped because it didn't really fit.)

100RadsBar: That's good of you to say. Cheers.
And...ah, research, research. No matter how much you do, it's never enough.
Yes, it's a mistake. I changed the weapon from a SPAS-12 to a Saiga-12, a) because it was mentioned in the comments to the original that Petrenko owning a SPAS-12 wasn't too likely, and b) the Saiga's one of the things Petrenko gives to MO in the game - or at least it is in at least one mod I've played - so I switched it.
Put it up there with Stephen King's Glock safety error.

As for the sequel...the honest answer is, I don't know when I'll start it in earnest, let alone get it done.
It'll be another freebie because it has to be, and that means it's a lesser priority, at least when it comes to paying the bills. In terms of ideas and wanting to tell the story, it'd be the next thing I do.

It could have been a Tasmanian police Glock.

No sweat
That's just me being pedantic (Got to have at least 1 OCD)

Saiga's are mod based weapons. The most powerful shotgun in the vanilla game, is the SPAS-12. I am not sure why some people would find it unlikely that he would carry a SPAS-12. If I remember correctly he carries an SVD in the vanilla game. Having a powerfull shotgun for close quarters would make sense. But enough of me rambling.

You are the author, so you are the god in the story, your word is law

The story is still excellent, and well written.
