I thought Seriy left the hangar after the fight with the bandits because that's what he tells you he has to do, he says because 'they'll' be after him now.
Bes leaves the vehicle yard after the fight there. Seriy leaves the hangar after the fight there. I've seen them both in various places later in games. I've seen Seriy sitting with Petruha at the campfire between the rail tracks and the tunnel that comes from DV in Cordon. I've seen him with Fox. I've seen him at the small tunnel under the road near Cordon village, and in the village itself.
The thing that always puzzled me about Seriy is that he thanks you for helping with the bandit fight for free - then he pays you. I wonder what his definition of 'free' is.
A preoccupation with the next world is a clear indication of an inability to cope credibly with this one.
That's strange. I've never seen Seriy leave the hanger, either in vanilla, or in any of the mods I've played.
I also don't know why creating a vacancy at another Loner camp before fighting the bandits would cause him to leave, either. Even if he is a "free agent" for a few seconds following the fight, why would he take off and create a vacancy at the camp he's already at? Or why wouldn't he just go and join up with Bes, since there's often been a recent casualty at that camp if you go straight from the vehicle graveyard to the hanger?
Unless of course camp assignments are completely random. Which is entirely possible.
optical_illusion doesn't use ZRP. I think that the unconventional way in which he plays the game would be the main cause behind Seriy moving to Agropom.
Seriy has always stayed at the train hangar in all my games of vanilla and ZRP. Bes normally stays at the camp near the entrance of the vehicle scrapyard until the proliferation of pseudodogs within the southern part of the Garbage, which I believe happens sometime around the Yantar missions.
I think that there likely is a random element to the way that NPCs choose which camps to join when multiple vacancies are available, and it's part of why the cause behind the exact behavior in discussion here is so difficult to pinpoint (through gameplay experience, anyway). Based on what I've seen I envision it as being a matter of creating a very specific set of circumstances on a different level than the unique NPC when their normal behavior of joining a camp has been interrupted through player or a-life intervention, after which a random choice is made as to which camp is joined. It's just a theory, though.
When you do x-18 the bandit camp down where the Whirlygigs are becomes replaced by the stalkers
and yes, psedudog camp opens up once you do X-16..i think
and yeah I don't use the ZRP but im planning to in the future
even in my last vanilla playthrough Seriy left the hangar but went to the camp right behind the hangar (where 3 loners usually reside) only to be ''crushed'' by one of the loners that respawned ontop of him and always spawn dead
True, Seriy's mission must auto-complete when the player gets the info from Mole, much as Bes' mission will disappear if you talk to Seriy first. And with vacancies being open in Agropom at this point, it's conceivable that he could choose a destination there instead of at the hangar immediately after his initial scripted behavior is broken before he actually "joins" the hangar camp in a regular NPC role.
