Lost Alpha Tweaked mod v1.03 [LA]

While playing through Lost Alpha I made some changes as I went, mainly fixes to the English text and bugs but I also added some new stuff and changed a few gameplay elements (some of which are still a work in progress though). I'll make a new one sometime in the future when Lost Alpha is updated.

You don't need anything other than Lost Alpha v1.30013 installed with no other mods. Just merge the gamedata folder into the existing one, overwriting files were necessary and adding new ones.

I recommend playing Lost Alpha at the higher difficulty settings due to the expanded carry weight limit.

Changes in this version:

1. Max carry weight increased (from 50 to 110).

2. Player starts with 100 Rubles.

3. Head bobbing disabled

4. Change to Sidorovich's dialogue near the start (to remove the "wall of text" syndrome, i.e. paragraph spacing).

5. Lens flare from the sun disabled.

6. Bleeding is the same as vanilla SoC, i.e. not as aggresive and less prone to bleeding out so quickly.

7. Wolfs radio now bleeps when he communicates with the rangers about your help at the factory.

8. The Sarcofagus now says "What you want is here Stalker, come" instead of "What do you want is here, Stalker".

9. The radar blip sound when NPC's are near is disabled.

10. Something far more interesting on the television screens.

11. Silenced Sidorovich's line "Good hunting stalker" (because it's annoying and you can sometimes hear it outside).

12. Removed "Talk to you" from the end of Sidorovich's line about anomalies (because "later" is missing).

13. Matched PDA text entry to Sidorovich's audio lines about anomalies.

14. Repair kits have a base value of 1500 so traders normally sell them for 3000 Ru.

15. Antidote has a base value of 400 so traders normally sell them for 800 Ru.

16. Antirad has a different inventory icon.

17. Ammo box sizes increased (can fit more on belt).

18. Flashlight batteries drain a little slower. [WIP - currently bugged, doesn't work. Game needs patching].

19. Corrections, spellings, grammar, consistancy and continuity fixes to English text (see below for some examples).

20. Corrected missing "tranceiver" name and description.

21. Changed text clue to Strelok's hidden stash to make it easier to locate.

22. General Voronin no longer says "What are you here" and there are longer pauses between his dialogues.

23. Rats are less lethal (easy to kill and do less damage).

24. Text for quests in the PDA are moved slightly more to the left so the text fits. [WIP - still to do].

25. "Gunslinger book" is now correctly labeled "Strelok's book" in the PDA.

26. New radio station in the bar plays instrumental synth music, DJ chatter, adverts and news.

27. PDA, flashlight, sleeping bag and binoculars all weigh nothing (because they're necessary items and should not weigh anything).

28. All "true" quest items weight nothing (becase you have no choice but to carry them so they should weigh nothing).

29. Brighter flashlight (shines further).

30. "Darkdolina" in PDA text correced to "Dark Valley".

31. The documents from Borov's safe are now correctly labeled with a full description (instead of just "OFFICIAL").

32. The documents from the Monolith base on Lab X18 are now correctly labeled with a decription (instead of just "TopSecret").

33. Corrected wrong X18 door code in PDA.

34. Anomaly detectors emit a less annyoing lower frequency beeping sound.

35. All anomalies elicit the same beep reponse from the detectors apart from Burnt Fuzz which is disabled entirely.

36. Most weapon shoot, draw, reload and silenced shot replaced with sounds from Oblivion Lost v2.2. [STILL WORK IN PROGRESS - needs full testing].

37. TOZ 34 is now spelt correctly (was "TOS").

38. The Electro anomaly is now correctly named (was "Electra"). [BUGGED! is fixed in v1.03]

39. Various text fixes to the artefacts and anomalies in the encyclopedia (most of which were a bit wrong).

40. More details about anomalies in the PDA.

41. Corrected "bar_rosf_leader" mapspot in Rostok Factory. It is now correctly labeled "Meet the Duty leader".

42. Corrected "cant_reach_area_warning" message in the sr_blocker.script (added ["esc_rosf_blocker"] = "Contaminated area, keep clear!", - which was missing).

43. Snitch in the bar now has longer pauses between each of his lines.

44. Changed hunger and stamina icons.

45. All vehicles now have the same fuel consumption rating of 0.0001.

46. Vortex and Springboard anomalies are now invisible apart from air distortion above them.

47. The key to lab X-14 now has a proper name and description.

48. The Lab X-14 documents now have a proper name and description and the inventory icon matches the model (red folder).

49. Added better name and descriptions for the two scientists PDA's in Lab X-14 and made them none quest items.

50. Silenced the two squeaking metal ambient sounds in Garbage (because they're annoying). Dez0wave please add better ones! Thanks.

51. You can now drop sleeping bags (HURRAH!).

52. Sakharov's case from Deadcity now has a proper name and description.

53. When captured in Deadcity you no longer loose your money. There is a bug where once you've got your inventory back you loose a large amount of the money you had and can't get it back. Rather than try to fix this bug I've just removed the script that takes all your money away.

54. New inventory icon for the "wires", now matches the model.

55. Added better name and description for the Textolite boards for the PDA.

56. REMOVED

57. Corrected all "psy-" to "psi-".

58. "Artefact" and "Artifact" continuity fixed (now they're all called "Artefacts" - how it should be spelt from the French "Arte" ).

59. "Water Dam" is now "Aquaduct (because that's what it is).

60. The "condensors", "basic toolkit" and "calibration kit" all have proper names and descriptions.

61. Changed wording on the levers in X16 (no longer prompts you to "turn off the miracle machine" ).

62. Fixed "Electra" naming bug. Seems changing the text in string_table_enc_zone.xml is ignored by the engine (despite being able to change the text for everything else in that file!). Instead "Electra" is defined in the file: encyclopedia_zone.xml in the gameplay folder. Weird. Anyway, it is now correctly called "Electro".

63. "Hermit" in Radar dialog and PDA entries is now correctly labeled "Nomad".

64. The Monolith "Guide" is now correctly referred to as "Captain" in the PDA.

65. Nomad's "belongings" are now referred to as his "special item" and the item in question is then referred to as a brain. The inventory icon is also changed slightly to make it look more like a brain...instead of a bunch of pink flowers.

66. Nomad has his own PDA icon for his fetch quests instead of generic ones (a new texture has been added).

67. NPC collision "bubble" is now smaller enabling you to brush past them easier and not get pushed out of the way.

68. "Way to Stancia" mapspot in Pripyat is now "Way to power plant".

69. "mil_dog_pc" in the PDA corrected (for Maddogs PC password) (WIP - not fixed yet, can't fix without crash]

70. Fixed lr300 shoot sound crash from previous mod version (my fault, sorry!).

71. "Sarcofagus" now correctly spelt "Sarcophagus".

Can a moderator please fix the problem with pre, it isn't working.

This is not a good place for pre, anyway. The long lines will ruin the forum layout. Fixed inadvertent smileys instead.

12. Removed "Talk to you" from the end of Sidorovich's line about anomalies (because "later" is missing).
---END QUOTATION---

It never needed a 'later' as it is just an expression, like 'see you'.

19. Corrections, spellings, grammar, consistancy and continuity fixes to English text (see below for some examples).
---END QUOTATION---

Oof! You really need to spell 'consistency' right.

---QUOTATION---
27. PDA, flashlight, sleeping bag and binoculars all weigh nothing (because they're necessary items and should not weigh anything).
---END QUOTATION---

Hmm. Food, armor, guns and bullets are are all necessary items - should they be zero mass, too?

53. When captured in Deadcity you no longer loose your money. There is a bug where once you've got your inventory back you loose a large amount of the money you had and can't get it back. Rather than try to fix this bug I've just removed the script that takes all your money away.
---END QUOTATION---

You actually recoup most of your money by looting the corpses of dead mercs after the break-out. You lose very little, which is massively replaced by the amount of loot made available from those same corpses.
