Saved Games Dont Load

I have played for maybe 2 hours. I had a number of saved games (both standard saves and quick saves). They were working fine, but now none of them work. I CTD when synchronizing.

I have the program running in windows 7 compatibility and running as admin. at first I could not save at all and every time id restart the game id have no saved game and default settings. That was fixed by changing the properties to the above.

Whats the deal. Cant play the game if my saves don't work.

I had this same problem. What triggered it for me, whenever starting or loading a game, was if I had changed what the quicksave and quickload hotkeys were. If they are not their default F6 and F7 keys respectively, the game returns to desktop when it finishes synchronizing resources.

I hope this helps you.

By setting the F6 and F7 as defaults, the game now runs, it didn't before.

However, I can save but when trying to load a saved file the game won't load, and just loops as if reloading the saved file over and over again.

you need to set admin rights for the whole game dir. right click on it and set it in properties.

this only happens to users who used the default install path, and didnt select custom one. windows protects program files, and it wont allow the game to modify or create files inside. thus the problems.

you can eventually disable uac as well, or reinstall the game to an other path outside of program files.

I had disabled UAC already long before trying Lost Alpha, and the problem persists. Our issue seems to be regarding the hotkeys, and not necessarily the saves themselves. All other customized settings save fine and work fine in the default directory except when one alters the quicksave and quickload hotkeys.

Agree with Celice. I have the game installed on a different ssd from the OS and have already disabled uac long ago. I have admin rights over the whole ssd. Saves work ok as long as i don't rebind save and load hotkeys. Im used to manual saves anyways so no biggie.

It would be nice to have a main menu quick hard save like someone did for misery (ui_main_menu.script) where you could hit escape, then hit the save hotkey with the map, time and date attached to the save and continue on. Very convenient. Just a suggestion though but anyways ty for all the hard work and im having a blast playing Lost Alpha.
