Huntington, West Virginia actually. But a good third of this city is vacant and 80% of it's current population are drug addicts... fits the theme.

From the highway I always thought Huntington looked sort of nice. I've got some family in West Virginia, and I pass by Huntington whenever I go out there. I don't think I've ever stopped there.

Silver Bay is half St. Louis, half Seattle, and half the city from the Condemned video games. Yeah, three halves. West Virginia, particularly the areas around Elkins and Pocahontas County, helped inspire the setting for Atrophy Book 4, incidentally.

West Virginia. Very atmospheric state. Borderline stalker-ish in places, since on the whole it's bleeding people - that makes for a lot of property that goes untouched for a long period of time. Creepy Silent Hill/Stalker type stuff all over the place.

Oh yeah... I've always been reminded of West Virginia whenever I'm in Cordon or Agroprom in SHOC.

Re-book 4, I kind of expected that. There's a lot of areas like that in West Virginia.

I did not really get a west virginia vibe from Condon Falls.... it felt more like you were trying to recreate the RE4 atmosphere.

I was for the woods, not the town. Should be a new chapter up tomorrow, or later today. Suddenly it's 2 AM. This is what happens when I play street fighter.

Think I found an error:

In chapter 116, Mist is ordered to shoot the bandit in the green coat.

“Get the brown and the gray. Mist, take the one in green. On three.”

In chapter 117, it says:

"The younger one already had on the dark brown coat of one of the bandits – the one I had shot. The coat gleamed wetly with blood, and there were several holes in the back. Her sister – her older sister, I guessed – was holding up the green coat and eying it with distaste."

Also, what do you mean by Velvet saying this: “Well. I hope my words aren’t all I’ll eat today.” I don't know of Velvet had to eat her words yet so I'm a bit confused.

Sorry for posting it here, your blog will not allow me to post. I do have a google account which I use for commenting on youtube but apparently it doesn't work on your blog.

It's all good. The comments are a pain - but if I change the settings supposedly the place will be overrun with bots. There's always email.

Fixed the things with the coats - good looking out.

Velvet said earlier that money doesn't fall out of the sky, but the sisters, having arrived by helicopter, prove that indeed, money does fall out of the sky. So she eats her words.

Ah, I understand about those bots, a shame it's so difficult to block them without harassing the innocent.

Thanks for reminding me about what Velvet said earlier - and for taking your time checking in here.

Keep up the great work. (Ever thought of making a movie (or three) out of it?)

If I had the resources, I'd probably prefer to see Atrophy onscreen, since that's my IP. I wouldn't object to screen adaptations of Zone/Freedom/Atrophy, but considering the resources that would be necessary, it doesn't seem likely.

But if you want something different, keep reading Freedom. I'm doing a little experiment in a couple chapters that you might find interesting.
