Its imparative to have some sort of melee without having to swap weapons

letts talk reality, I run out of ammo, while yes in the game that knife pulls pretty fast and is awsome, I realy dont think the first thing on my mind is to go through the motions of slinging up my rifle and grabbing another weapon unless its a fire arm like my seccondary, when I can just bitch slap the guy and then proceed to smash his skull in with the back of my rifle, or hell why not the front, would have to clean it but jabs are quicker than smashes...

MORE than the practicality of that a rifle stock its a weapon too, Stalker performs an amaizingly detaild and even more so potentialy detaled tactcal shooter in terms of scripting, and enviromentaly its like no other, as its more of a simulation than a role playing game, or rather you play a role and the enviroment does its thing as would be in real life which is something I had never seen before, at least nothing close to comparison (dont even get me started on that rape to the concept of video games oblivion was). In that, I can understand why a quick nade throw is unrealistic, and switching and covering your flush is surprisingly smooth, I realy like the way they did nades on allmost every scale in this game, but a melee attack like a kick or a shove or bitch smacking is reaLY part of imersing the player in such a fluid and detailed enviroment. You dont shoot a guy when you turn a corner and bump into him cause chances are your guns are tangled and you might be able to fire and finish later but chances are he's allready bashed his gun into your face and the only shot will be his since you were trying to wait untill you had minimum range to use your weapon effectivly, and he wouldent have to shoot you if you gave such an oportunity like that cause he could just keep bashing your face in till you didnt have one.

It just makes sense to have some sort of method of shoving or quick infliction of damage in super closed quarters or closed quarter and out of ammo situations, I mean it would be instinct, as put I draw my knife and its a pretty quick draw, but games that dont have melee in fluidic function to having a primary equiped is realy even for generic console shooters a thing of more cheeper efforts. And those f*ckers are as cheep and lazu and souless and they come, GSC should know, concidering how much effort they put into this and how much money and time was wasted on bioshock or oblivion, and how much money they didnt make for it.

It realy gets frustraiting when I go to smack a guy when I should be able to smack him and it Makes Sense to smack him but you are forced to shoot cause the game dosent support smacking, when its now so common place.

Its a simple thing to add and would make Clear Sky just that much more kickass as you have allmost all the other basses coverd.

I should note another easy thing to do as you did most the work allready with these detaled models and ironsight animation, 3D scopes.

I did a mod for lr300 and G36 that essentialy took a screen of iron sight position with scope turned off in script and then cut it out and alphaed it and replaced the scope texure with that for a custom version of the gun ( since I cant seem to have a g36 to have a scope that is addable or removable), but having a full screen scope is realy disengaging in combat as when you get in closed quarters, your magic assault rifle if it dosent come with ironsights becomes a guess and check weapon since a. crosshairs are stuped in a day and age wehre we have the modeling capability to actualy simulate the sights of a gun, as stalker does, and the crosshairs in stalker themselves f*cking SCREAM to be turned off, hell it was the first thing I did in game.

It would add to the realism and be very easy to do as you just do what Crytek did and make a transparent texture on the model, Stalkers models are equal to and even more detailed in somecases than the models in Crysis, first AND third person, (for the weapons lol nothing else), so its not like you would get in trouble for people bringing the gun closer to their face, and I mean its just so simple to do, and so f*ckin kickass when it is done.

In that we could have aimpoints, real ones and it would just add so much to the feel of the game cause when you havae a screen square texture with a hole in it, and crosshairs in the middle of that hole, it just seems so cheesy by comparison.

I'm (edit: not) trying to be mean or anything, but... Punctuation, coherency. Use them. Please.

From that whole thing, I got: "ksjhfasdjksjhfasdkslfgjd weneedmelee kjsdb falsdk fhasldkfj fasfg asgsdvd sfagha ffasdjkj."

EDIT: Oh, my. I seem to have omitted a 'not' up there. That was entirely unintentional. Sorry for any offense I may have caused.

Oh my gosh!

That's crazy!

Anyway, we should probably get back on topic now.

Yeah, it'd be good to have melee other than the knife in STALKER. I would like it.

Oh my.

Unbelievable.. Trying to read that has lead me to believe he has some form of autism. No offense, of course.

[edit]

As for the original topic from what I could make out, thats never gonna happen and not really needed anyways.
