If I could change the multiplayer mode - and your opinions.

Multiplayer mode that I wish could be redone. There are 4 major components that hand and hand make the Multiplayer mode horrible.

1.) The game play is way to fast paced like an arcade game. Just doesn't have the same feel as the single player. It's like your playing Counter Ctrike ( Conter Strike - Terrorist vs Counterterrorists = Chernobyl S.T.A.L.K.E.R - Mercinaries vs Stalkers ). Even has the buy weapons at the beginnig. I would like the speed, jumping height, and pace feel to be exactly like the Single Player mode.

2.) Map size is way to small. Its like you being thrown in a small gladiator arena. I do like how they adjusted some of the buildings and objects though. Its especially way to small for 32 player games, your spawning on top of each other. Would like to see the Multiplayer maps the size of one section of the zone in Single Player mode.

3.) Player spawning. This is one of the worst I have ever seen in conjunction with the small map size. In 32 players its common I will be running threw a building and an enemy will spawn in front of me. If you try defending a building you will always get killed after an enemy spawns behind you in the same building. Then theres the problem of an enemy camping out in front of a spawn point and shooting enemys as they spawn in front of him. If the maps where bigger I say place the spawning on the outer edges of the map when no opposing enemys are withing view distance or camping in front of spawn points.

4.) Lag when playing on a non-local server. I have to play on a local North American based server for my ping to be decent. It impossible for me to play on a far away server in like United Kingtom or Russia or the lag is so bad that its unplayable on any servers outside North America. So I rarely ever play multiplayer because only at very few times of the week that players are in severs close to United States region.

Okay, now for the ideas of Multiplayer gameplay changes.

First I mentioned the buy weapons feature at the start of the round. Now assuming the above four changes could be made:

At the first start of the round there would be no buying of weapons, you would start off with a basic pistol, knife, binoculars ect. The maps would be bigger and the spawning would be on outer edges so you don't start off with someone shooting you in the back right after you spawn. In the bigger maps you would make several armory and ammo cach scattered over the map. You would have major bigger armories with more heavy / special weapons and gear (few of this of course), and smaller armories with more basic small arms weapons and gear ( majority of these types).

Now on to part two of this idea:

How would ammo and weapons spawning be handled. Like in Single Player mode you have to scavage your weapons. Ammo respawns back at the ammo cach only after the players expends them out on the field or players throw them in unreable areas. Weapons only respawn back at armorys only after the weapon is totally broken or discarded in a unreachable area after a few minutes. Unreachable areas are say, a players get the idea to deny respawning of weapons or ammo to other players by throwing lots of them in swamps and other areas thats impossible for another player to reach them. Another thing to prevent spawn caming the outer edges spawn points of the map, limit the amount of weight players can carry to a realistic amount, this prevents a players carrying half an armory of weapons ( so its not possible for a player to carry, 3 rocket launcher, 5 rifles, 3 smg, 15 pistols, 100,000 rounds, 50 rockets, 100 grenades ) and spawn camping the outer paremeter of the map. If they spawn kill it will be short lived untill they run out of ammo. The only nearist ammo a spawn killer could scalvage is the pistol ammo, it would be a fair fight with a newly spawned player that starts with a pistol thus creating a balance.

So how this would work as far as Multiplayer gameplay changes would be: Map size, pace and speed of the game like singleplayer, adding of weapons scavaging and raid ammo cachs to keep in ammo and weaponry, and spawing in out of site remote areas would make the multiplayer exerience more like the excellent single player mode that made S.T.A.L.K.E.R an orginal.

P.S. I must say S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a classic, and original masterpiece that I never though, after six years, would make it to being published. Grandulations to the developers, hope this sets an example for other developers putting the dedication an efforts into there work.

Tbh i would rather let the MP BASICLY be as it is.
Just wanna get all bugs/crashes and lags removed.
Also want the game to be lighter (less pc lag).
I wanna see some balancing and more maps.
Buy/weapon/rank system could use a huge improvement.
More competative gameplay in descent speed (i dont like slow mp games tbh).
Cba to write more atm. But hopefully you know what i mean.
Now, dont hate me just cos i got different taste in mp lol.
Your ideas are great too.
Unfortunatley they have been presented before but gsc haven't listened to them.
But maybe you are thinking about "modding" the mp part?
Is that what you mean by the title?
In that case - GET ON IT! Cos there's LOADS of ppl that think excacly the same as you (not many checkin this site though).

After playing the multiplayer (1.0006) I was disappointed. The lag is this game is horrible, and maybe like 1 us server (80 ping).. I killed the ctx admin like 10 times in a row and he banned me.. ..Now I have to play on the overseas lagfest which I get tired of real quick.

I say get rid of the neon armbans.. That make using stealth pointless. Why crawl through the bushes and lower the sound of footsteps when you have a neon glow in the dark sign mounted to you? The graphics are the only reason I even play this multiplayer part, the graphics and the dynamically changing weather. I wonder is there any commands we can enter into console to change the update rates and other rates? This multiplayer has so much potential only to be hindered by lag.

Hah yea, tell me about it, i flamed the CTX admin on their forums cuz he's a retard and what not, and i got banned haha... most of the CTX guys are chill and all but Viper just annoys the living crap out of me, and many of them are just unexperienced when it comes to FPS games and think anyone with a good score / good aim is a potential hacker/cheater .

Anyways...

The MP in STALKER was actually amazing, except for all the lagging.
The maps were by far the BEST i've seen in any MP FPS game. The artifact hunt mode, simply unique and once again AMAZING.

Only problem was the models skipping all over the place and the massive lag, take away those problems, and the game could have sold a lot more copies, because MP is where it's really at these days.

Hopefully Clear Sky will keep the best of SoC Multi Player and fix the bugs and add new things.

We can only tell in a month, or less .

Looking forward to the release
