Oh, and I'll add that my previous description of "Purge the freedomers" is (probably) for vanilla 1.0004 and above (though only really tested by me in 1.0006 as of yet).

This is one of those really long missions that you have to do, also probably because I tried killing them with barrels to stay neutral. Keeping freedomers alive in the village is the hardest part of the whole thing. Just do whatever you can to stay away from the village when you're traveling to keep them in offline mode. Still, imo it's worth it because the special VAL has a bigger mag than Vintorez and is better.

If the village Freedomers are somehow killed early then I would strongly recommend destroying at least one of the non-unique Freedom bodies in a Vortex anomaly. Their replacements have consistently respawned in my (unmodded 1.0006) game since I did this.

So far in this game I've completed "Purge the freedomers" five times using the local a-life to do the actual "purging". A few raging bloodsuckers will often tear through all required targets within a matter of mere seconds. The traveling Mercs work well too, but can be slightly more difficult to lead to the right spot. But the red barrels are a good choice for those who don't feel like trying to lead hostile a-life around the level.

That's an awesome tip. Never thought of destroying their bodies to respawn more.

Thanks, Tejas Stalker. Your posts (along with those from other members of this board) have had great positive influence on how I play.

The fact that the destroying the bodies actually brought back the Freedomers back to the village was a huge surprise, I initially just did it as a goof and didn't really expect much from it. I'm still looking for other situations where doing similarly might produce interesting results.
