Sorry man, but you lost me at "move your gamedata folder to desk". I dont have any mods yet so i dunno. I thought i had to exstract the db files to a gamedata folder.

And what i dont know is if should exstract all the db files into 1 main folder or have them in seperate folders like they are orginal as a db file 01,02,03 ect.

To be frank. I just want to use a mod.
Do i have to exstract all this stuff to be able to use one?.

Im so confused right now

No, that is not necessary.
Open fsgame.ltx (in your game folder) with notepad.
Change the second line to this:
$game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata
Save and exit. Now almost every mod you can download will already be
setup so you only need to extract them to the folder where you installed the game.
(thusly creating a gamedata folder and everything else that is needed)

Don't unpack the files until you've read some more about this but if you really feel
the need to they should all be unpacked to the same place, a folder called gamedata
in the folder where the game is. Gamedata folder isn't there by default so you
need to create it or it's already there if you have installed a mod previously.
If you have done so, unpacking will overwrite the mod/s.
Hope this clears things up.
I think that is all and as clear as I can make it...

Hi guys!

Maybe it's quite obvious, but there are a lot of scripts still in the code that will create:

Sleep
Driving

I'm sure there are a lot more in there. For example, driving a BMP is somewhere in the game already, as a bug - but that means the animation and the script is still in there somewhere.

Modders, please look for these! Finish the game for the community.

Ab@dDon has kinda got sleep working. It's a bit sketchy, but it's a start.

I'm gonna assume you have edited fsgame.ltx to check gamedata folder before .db files. You have to add them to these groups: supplies start/after and sell start/after group. Hope this clears up things for you. If you edit the lines in only one group the trader in question either won't have the item or won't sell it I guess. And also make sure it's present at all "after" groups. I don't think it will inherit. So if a trader starts out with it. For example Sidorovich, and you don't edit the text "after fabric" and the rest. He will only sell them before you start wolf's mission. Hope this helps.

aye, thanks Astaroth.
The problem I encountered was..... I forgot to put the exact directory

I only put the .ltx files in /gamedata directory....
not in /gamedata /config /misc

Now I understand about some modding

Alright, all I want to do is add some new music to the game - so I converted some mp3s to ogg, created a gamedata/sounds/music directory and placed them in there, the set gamedata = true in the ltx file. Problem is, the game crashes whenever it starts up (the same thing happened when I tweaked a few config files)

Somebody help me out, this is really starting to piss me off.

Sorry for my absence. I got a nasty case of alcohol poisoning and am just beginning to recover.

Maade: Great info! I'll be sure to add it to this thread.

NaNT: Do you mind if I edit your weapon modding post to be a general tutorial instead of specifically helping Final Warrior/Griffinhart, and adding it to the guide? It was very informative.

no. feel free to add it to your tut

I had an idea, if the max_weight is set to 100 can the outfits additional weight value be used as a negative number to attain the correct weight?

Thanks all,

Az
