Just want to ask you how to use.I copy the extracted files into RB1.05 folder and execute the installer,am I doing it right?
Or should I just overwrite the old files with the fix?
( In order to test the fix,I bribe the duty guards and go straight forward to the ArmyWarehouses.Lukash is still providing the Freedom_kill_stalker_8 task.That's why I ask so. )

Well,acturally I forgot to tell you something in my early replies.It's not about bugs,but game balances.

1.The sleeping bag system:I guess you should set some limit for using sleeping bag.Imagine this:I can sleep wherever and whenever I want,even I am in a dangerous situation.When getting shot,I can just hide behind cover,stop bleeding with bandages first,and then sleep for a few hours,no need to worry about being harmed while sleeping.
Or think about this,a bloodsucker has hurt me pretty bad,and is still chasing me.I can jump onto somewhere he can't reach(for example,the top of a broken truck.) ,maybe equip some artifects that can improve the recovering,and just sleep with a monster near my pillow. =v=
Now I think you know what I mean,if I am a cheater,I won't need medkits anymore.
Is it possible to set that the player can only use sleeping bag at a safe zone,like non-weapon area or faction base,and cannot sleep again within several hours after waking up?

2.The hot keys,"using bandage"and "using F-aid kits"become a little inconvinent,because if you have comsumable mutant parts with you,pressing these keys always use the mutant parts instead of medical supplies.I wonder if you can change the priority of using recovery items?

Hey Guren

i just sent you a couple more files to try as the cap fix dosn't really work.

Ok, the files I sent you are not placed in there proper directory, I just figured you would be able to do this your self. you just have to overwrite all the reb 1.05 files with the new 1.05.2 files. You will have to go thru the folder structure to located where each file goes and overwrite the old one. Obviously the actual release version of the hotfix will have this already done, but what I sent you is only a beta.

The installer is not for the hotfix, but for v1.05. This is good feedback, I won't include it in the hot fix as it is a bit confusing. I will save that for if there is a complete repack of the mod, maybe after the save / load bug is sorted, this may need to be the case.

On the sleeping bag issues, this is beoynd my skills, i simply merged in Russo's ABC sleeping bag mini-mod, i really don't know how it works.

Yes, I know about the mutant parts and the hot key, I found that this was the only way that the mutant parts would ever actually get used. is it quirky, but if you really need to use a medkit and not a mutand part, then you have to do it the long way. Rebalanced is all about new choice and consequence in many differant ways, lol.

I Would be interested in more feed back from others on this issue, if too many ppl find it way to annoying, I will consider putting it back to normal.

Hmm...yes,I replaced the old files one by one as you said.

Here's I can tell you now:
1.DC's "kill the bloodsuckers"mission:
It's weird,I have tried 3 times and none of the results are the same.
First time,the mission was completed 2 minutes after I accepted it.Soon I figured out that Nimble killed them for me(with a dbl-shotgun)! lol
The second time,the bloodsuckers have been wiped out before I accepted the task...
The 3rd time,I can't even find one bloodsucker...
Well acturally,this issue is acceptable to me.Since MosinNagant is not a rare weapon,I won't mind if I need to pick one up from a cold hand.

2.The save/load problem mentioned by most REB1.05 players remains,
but is a little different with before.This is what I experienced:I asked jobs from lukash,after I accepted any of those jobs and save/load,the savegame will be broken.Loading corrupted savegames will cause a CTD.(By the way,the"freedom_kill_stalker_8"task is no longer being seen.)

I'll skip the venture in ArmyWarehouses for now.Next stop:Yantar.

Oh,I also find another way to keep the PKM from returning to Cap.
Just remember to drop it before talking to Cap.
(Sorry Shadow,this make me more like a troublemaker than a test-player. XD )

be prepard for when you finally give into that urge to play CS . . . I didn't even make it 10 min without backing out to rip open the databases and start "fixing" the audio - the ambient noises I found extremelly aggrevating. Wasn't even 25% into the game before I was tweaking weapons files, installing texture mods, etc

a ravenous bunch, we are.


anyhow - I'll play with the attenuation for the elctro idle some more for my next update - I like the final sound as well, just have had issues with it's volume. Anyone have any other recommendations or suggestions for ambient audio?


otherwise, in regards to your mod, as soon as I'm done beta-testing for another modder, I'll get further into REB - what little I've done I haven't had any issues with.

1. ensure you allready have Stalker Rebalanced v1.05 (or v1.05.1) installed correctly.
2. replace the Stalker Rebalanced v1.05 (or v1.05.1) with the v1.05.2 files contained in this archive


Guren, cheers for your feedback, and yes I allready know about the other expliot with cap, but oh well, that is about the limit of my scripting skills. Interesting about the save / load bug just from doing side quests.

@All, I will be away on bussiness again for another week, after which I will look into fixing the major save / load bugs, even if it means removing the AEM.

Well, it would be unfortunate if you have to remove anything from this mod... Reb has been my favorite mod since its inception. But it would be even more unfortunate if I can't finish the damn game because of a save/load error.

I loaded the autosave from entering the Bar area, but when I tried to use the levelchanger to go back toward the entrance (where Duty originally asks you to help them kill the mutants advancing from the Dark Valley), CTD. I haven't tried any of the other levelchangers to see if all of them are broken.

no crash till AW

Played the game normally all the way to the AW. Did not fight in the Arena! When returning from AW to Bar game crashed. Tried loading the autosave from that point but no luck. Then tried loading a savedgame from AW location. Didn't work either. However savedgames from other locations still work! Can upload Xrayengine report if you would like. I hope this isn't a real big problem as gameplay and graphics are SOOOO nice up till this point. Also one other annoyance is that when trying to use a Medkit quick key the game uses monster parts for health until they run out, then can get Medkits ???? bandages and antirads key works fine.

possible cause for CTD

Hi,
I really like your mod, it gives a new feeling to the game but I also have CTD.


Could the CTD be related to the locations of some quest items ?

I was in the bar, coming from the garbage after Agroprom, starting from a working save.
If I accept all the "kill missions, traitor, masters,...", I'm able to leave the level to army wharehouse and a quicksave also works.
If I take the "find the dutyer weapon " and the kill missions : CTD when leaving and on a quicksave.
If I take only the dutyer mission, it works but the mission marker is somewhere in the garbage where there is nothing.

New game, in the lab in dark valley, after the bar, without the dutyer mission but with the "find the Psisuit" from the barkeeper.
The item location marker was somewhere near in red forest.

I find a psiarmor prototype and take it: CTD when leaving the level.

Hey guys, I am still around, playing Far Cry 2 at the mo, it's good in a lot of ways but ain't no Stalker, that's for sure.

Thanks for your detailed feedback there dufrasnes that does all make sense. I know that the find the Duty Abakan Commando mission dosn't point to the correct place, I think that is becuase there is more than one of that particular item in the game. For me, it normaly points to a spot on the ground in the bandit factory in DV.

There may be some hope, here is a post by Ruso (the Guy who made the ABC series of mods) from my file front page

I think that he had similar issues with his ABC Inferno and found a way to get the game to be able to save more info to each save game.

Does anyone have any knowledge about this, or where they can point me to someone who does?

Maybe reb's mp_ranks file needs to be tidied up a bit, I don't really know that much about it, so I always place new wpns into the same line, it might need to be mixed up a bit maybe.
